About Cincinnati's Mt. Lookout

Looks like a beautiful weekend is in store for the 2010 Mt. Lookout Fall Festival. The third year for this event, it will be held on Saturday, October 16th from Noon to 4PM.

Due to construction on the Square, the location needed to be moved. It will be held behind Cardinal Pacelli School on Ellison Avenue, where the weekly Farmer's Market is held. So the last farmer's market of the year and the Fall Festival will coincide.

Many exciting events are being planned:

• DJ Matt Joy from The Stand will once again provide music
• Activities include face painting, cornhole, bouncy castle
• National Trail Family Farm will donate a pig roast for sandwiches
• Linwood Sausage will sell a variety of sausages and hot dogs
• Pop, water and adult beverages will be for sale

Come enjoy the fun and camaraderie.

I guess as a child my parents didn't force me to eat my veggies quite enough... the end result: 80% of my meals revolve around the cheeseburger. It's then no big surprise that Zip's Cafe is one of my favorite places in Hyde Park/Mt. Lookout. With a menu of burgers and burgers and then a variation of burgers... (and a few other things, but the burgers are what I'm there for.) it is the perfect place for me.

Zip's unique dark wood and low lights creates an old-time feel that you can't help but enjoy. Seat yourself, but be patient as sometimes the little cafe can get a little crowded. I suggest heading to the back room and eating at the bar.

Be a real tough guy and order one of the burgers with a Met on top or shaved ham. Polish it off with some cheese fries and then feel guilty for an hour or two about how much good food you just inhaled.
