I am not one to shot down opportunities/chances one takes but when it comes to selling your won home you need to make good judgment. There is much more to selling your home than placing an add and planting a "for sale by owner" sign in the front yard. There is things like disclosures, understanding the closing process, concessions, financing conditions, and so on. Every time I close a sale I learn something new which is amazing for someone who has as many years as I have in the business. There is also the legal risk of selling your own home. You do something that you think is OK may be illegal and can get you in court. I hear people ending up buying back their own home for much much more than they sold it for.

So what is your solution. Choose a Realtor. Realtors are licensed professionals in the field. They play it by the book for the sake of their own license and continued business. Realtors can provide you with the education and decreased stress in selling your home. Don't take a chance because someone told you can do it on your own. If they sold their home on their own they may have been pretty fortunate it worked out smoothly. There are always bumps along the way but your Realtor deals with the bumps not you and has the education and experience to move through all that still keeping to the closing time lines set.

Call a Realtor today before you sell that home on your own.

Avon Lake Schools again get a local boost

Watching the local news I was proud to hear how the Avon Lake Schools were applauded for using the National School Safety Grant funds they were rewarded for a computerized mapping system showing every school hallway, every room, and every closet where a gunmen could hide. The money that was provided to a number of local school systems have apparently not been seen put to use. However, Avon Lake was one of the 152 schools pointed out to have used the funds accordingly to have visual monitoring systems and other safe guards put in place for the local students. Avon Lake Police have reported that this has been an outstanding addition to the schools and feels now more confident in being able to safely monitor students. Avon Lake News : Hayden's Little Helpers Fundraiser

Due to the overwhelming response for the Hayden's Little Helpers Fundraiser to be held on Friday, November 14^th, we are moving the main event location from The Huddle to Swingo's Grand Tavern at 32858 Walker Rd, Avon Lake. Matt Swingo has graciously donated his banquet facility as our "home base" for various raffles and music by Tim Blake from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. There is no entry fee to the Swingo's event. There will be a cash bar, music, and MANY great items to win! Raffle items including: Cavs, Browns, Monsters and Indians Tickets, autographed LeBron James card, autographed bat by Victor Martinez, OSU corn hole set, gift cards to several salons, restaurants, gas cards and much, much more!!!!!(cash and checks only for the raffle)

But in the end, the winner is truly all families that participate in helping this family as they struggle with their continuing battles against such a rare infection. What are you thankful for?

Wow where has the year gone? We are already in November. The holidays are just around the corner. And with this time of the year we think about what we are thankful for. What have we done and accomplished over the past year? What moments can you think of that you are thankful for? I can say getting to this point above water in the crisis we are in can be a major accomplishment. I have become a stronger negotiator and marketer as a result of this. People who worried that there home would not sell I have helped. What can you share?
