Commentary - By looking at the numbers, Gates Mills real estate was very similar in 2010 compared to 2009. The number of sales increased and the average price was around the same. There was an increase in the number of luxury homes sold, though, 9 compared to 7 in 2009.

Overall, Gates Mills is still considered to be one of the most exclusive areas in which to live, with some of the most expensive homes in the area. There are numerous "estate-like" homes in the area, fitting for an executive, athlete, or someone who appreciates the finer things in life. These are the type of homes you see in the movies or on TV.  Gates Mills is a quaint "village" just outside of Cleveland and offers an old-style type of charm.  It is also located within the excellent rated Mayfield School District, although many children living in Gates Mills attend one of the areas private schools.

Looking ahead, we anticipate Gates Mills home sales to be similar to last year, with a slight increase in luxury home sales.
