Finding answers is tough sometimes

Jimmy Johnson: Real Estate Sales Person in Pataskala, OH

So here I am with a listing that seems like it is just too good to be true. The property is priced incredibly for the neighborhood, It is a beautiful home with many updates. I have had 34 showings on the property with very little if any negative feedback and have yet to get an offer. I am really shocked by these developments and I am at a crossroad as to what to do next. The sellers have dropped the list price over $20,000 as they are extemely motivated and are looking for answers from me as to why we can't get into contract. The crazy part is I can not give them an honest answer because I don't understand myself. I know that property values are dropping like crazy but this home is priced incredibly for the neighborhood. I have told the sellers that my job is to get people into the batter's box so to speak and I obviously have done that with 34 showings. Problem is, I can't make them buy the house. Has anyone out there had a similiar situation happen to them. I feel like my sellers are frustrated (and so am I) but I don't really know what more I can do. Any suggestions out there from my Active Rain family would be much appreciated. Have a great day everyone and looking forward to some helpful advice!!!

Taxpayers say no once again to income tax

If you are a Patakala resident you have seen the income tax levy be turned down for the 7th time. I can see why people turn it down but I really don't know what Pataskala is going to do for funding? We are going to end up losing services that we really need which is very sad.

I really think that the council is going to have to think of something else to do because the city can not go without police services and cleaning of the roads during the winter. At the rate Pataskala is going if there is not something done than I think more and more people are not going to want to live in Pataskala. Especially when you live in one of the housing developments and they don't come and clean your road and you can't get out to go to work (and they will do that just like when you don't pass the school levy a few times the first thing they do is take away bussing).

I have lived here my whole life and it has changed so much. The taxes have at least doubled and I am pretty sure people's income has not doubled. I am not saying that is Pataskala's fault but I do feel they need to let in more business and by business I don't just mean small business. Every person I have talked to that has a small business though tells me that Pataskala is the worst place to deal with if you want to have one there. It should not be like that. Business should want to come and we really need it to come. All we have is housing so the tax burden is put on homeowners.

One thing I am confused about in Pataskala is some people say they will never vote for an income tax levy for the city but obviously there were a lot of people that voted for an income tax levy for the school. Maybe they were different people I don't know?
