All things Woolly Bear in Vermilion Ohio

The annual Woolly Bear Festival is the largest one day festival in the State of Ohio.
It is held the second weekend of October each year in the picturesque, historic, Lake side town of Vermilion, Ohio
More than 30 years ago, Northeast Ohio weatherman, Dick Goddard came up with the idea to host a festival around this
furry caterpillar. The premise was that the caterpillar’s furry black and orange striped body could indicate what type of winter was in store for the area. The idea was just wacky enough to take off and it’s been a tradition ever since.
It is a very family oriented festival with all things festive and woolly.
There’s a HUGE parade, a Woolly Bear Queen, Contests, Crafts, Food, Entertainment and more. You’re sure to see some of your favorite local TV personalities and probably some friends as well.
There is a list of events scheduled that you can check out here.
It’s a good time at the Woolly Bear Festival in Vermilion, Ohio.
The date is Sunday, October 9 in Vermilion, OH. Put a big circle on your calendar. The weekend weather should be spectacular
