Dennis Foley Recognized as Contributing Author to Real Estate in 2008 Book of Top Ideas for the Challenging Market of 2008
Dennis Foley, one of the premier Realtors in the Columbus Ohio Area, recently joined hundreds of top agents as a contributing author to Real Estate in 2008.
Columbus, Ohio (Best Agent Business) December 28, 2007 - Dennis Foley, a top producing Realtor in The Columbus Ohio market, joined with hundreds of top real estate agents around the country to write Real Estate in 2008 in less than a month.
Real Estate in 2008 (http://www.realestatein2008.org/) helps buyers, sellers, and agents succeed in a challenging 2008 market by providing hundreds of ideas from top agents. Chapters include ideas on how to find motivated buyers, how to convince buyers to buy, how to get sellers to price/position their homes and creative ideas from around the country. These are ideas from top real estate agents who collaborated in an industry-wide effort which was launched during the National Association of Realtor's (NAR) conference in November 2007.
Dennis provides a number of ideas as to why buyers should buy in 2008 and how sellers can prepare, price and position their homes to be sure they get sold in 2008. "The once ambiguous terms short sale and pre-foreclosure now grace the pages of media nationally as well as thousands of listings. Buyers have an opportunity to acquire homes at pre-boom prices. From a sellers perspective it has never been more important to use the services of a REALTOR. This book "Real Estate in 2008" provides proven strategies from successful REALTORS across the nation using these techniques to accomplish what others are unable to accomplish in this market," said Dennis.
"Dennis contributed some great ideas to the book and shared his knowledge with other agents and consumers," said Steve Kantor, President of Best Agent Business and author of Billion Dollar Agent - Lessons Learned. "Over 1,000 top agents around the country brainstormed and contributed ideas to write Real Estate in 2008 in record time. We wanted to help agents, buyers and sellers make the most of the 2008 real estate market."
Dennis Foley has been a Realtor for 9 years and is currently Co-owner of Keller Williams The Realty Firm in Westerville, Ohio. His website, http://www.thefoleyteam.net/ & http://www.houseshopping101.com/, provides detailed information and buying and selling tips for the area as well as real estate blogs, forums and industry news.
Dennis, as an expert in the local area, provides the following opinions on the local real estate market in 2008. "There are many excellent opportunities to purchase foreclosed & bank owned homes here for first time homebuyers. As far as the general consumer perceives the current market is still depressed. With recent factors such as the President's signing of the Tax Relief Bill, FHA reforms, risk score pricing and improved lending guidelines this is the time for buyers to take advantage of the low interest rates and low prices. When the public learns it is time to get back in the market the best opportunities may be gone," said Dennis.

Big Bugs... is at Inniswoods Metro Gardens through October 14, 2007.
The bugs are the work of artist David Rogers.
Inniswood Metro Gardens is part of the Metroparks.
There's a slideshow with some of the other bug sculptures and lots of flowers on my other blog, ColumbusBestBlog.com. There are not photos of all Rogers' bugs there you need to go see them yourselves at Innsiwood Metro Gardens, the photos don't do the sculptures or the flowers justice.
Above is one of three large ants. There's ladybugs (which are not bugs and aren't all ladies either... 'Big Bugs' is educational even if you are older) a great spider, an assasin bug, a butterfly, an 11' grass hopper, a dragon fly.... and more.
Sunday's Commit To Be Fit Walk is at Inniswood Metro Gardens kill two birds with one stone. Figuratively. They have children's programs on Saturdays throughout the exhibit of the BIG BUGS.
It's FREE!

Not Nirvana as in not paradise.
I guess Nirvana is a state not a place. Nirvana is happiness, peace, lots of great things. It's a Budhist concept. It's way over my head.
Nirvana was also the name of a rock group. Grunge rock
The Nirvana song from the early 90's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" went through my brain at church in Westerville Ohio Sunday morning. Some of the lyrics to the song are:
"Load up on guns
Bring your friends
Its fun to lose
And to pretend
Shes overboard
Myself assured
I know I know
A dirty word"
I'm too old to have songs like that running through my brain. The song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is from the early 90's. In the early 90's I was already waaaaaay too old for personal teen angst but the song is caught in my brain never the less.
Recently two of Columbus suburbs made the CNNMoney.com list of 100 Top US Cities this year, Westerville and Gahanna. Both Westerville and Gahanna are smaller cities. Both communities are very family oriented. Face it Greater Columbus is a great place to raise a family, over all, but it is not "Nirvana" no community is.
A friend who is a parishioner of a Westerville church that was the alledged target of a "Columbine style attack" according to articlees in the Columbus Dispatch blurted out something about the boy's parents not being responsible parents when we first talked about it last Wednesday night when I read about "the plot" online and sought the Columbus Dispatch for more information. Two unidentified local restaurants were also alleged targets.
Westerville is not Nirvana is an entry on my other blog, Columbus Best Blog about the local story of troubled teens in that Central Ohio community. I want to believe the plot that was "uncovered" was just a plea for attention and not something that they could or would implement. Two other local teens who read about 'the plot' on MySpace.com brought it to the attention of local authorities.
The Westerville boys would have been born around the time the song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was recorded by Nirvana. Here (link broken) is a YouTube Video of "Smells Like Teen Spirit.' It's hard to hear the lyrics. It's a song about teenage rebellion and anarchy, the A in a circle means Anarchy. To me Westerville is more soccer league and cheerleader, less anarchy.
