New major industries are choosing to invest in our community - BAE Systems is in the process of adding facilities in and around Elgin; the unemployment rate in Lawton should continue to decrease and our economy should reap many rewards. The Lawton - Fort Sill Cavalry is back in action and ready for another championship; The city has built one Kid Zone and is in the process of building another Playground in the Park; Elmer Thomas Park is and will continue to serve as a fun filled recreational facility, providing a safe atmosphere and family oriented entertainment for the citizens of Lawton and visitors to our great city; the beauty in the mountains, endless activities unique to our community; The economical infrastructure of our community is flourishing; I am excited for our growth and I am very hopeful that real estate will continue to be real good for a real long while.

The construction permits topped out at over $8.2 million last month, due to steady new home construction along with commercial and nonprofit ventures. There were a total of 18 new home permits issued valued at nearly $3.1 million. This figure is down from the August total, but up from the same period last year.

The average number of closing also increased from an average 106.8 to 157 per month for the past six months (March - August), couple with an average price increase of approximately 13%. The new construction sales numbers increase from 149 (March - August 2008) to 181 for the same period this year (March - August 2009).

Many of these improvements are thought to be occuring for several reasons; improved consumer confidence in the Lawton area, very attractive interest rates, the arrival of new families (BRAC). Although the influx of the military families has not had any large immediate effect; many hold off from buying right away due to frequent deployments, having homes in other parts of the country that are not experiencing the same results as Lawton and the rest of Oklahoma has. But in the next two to three years there is expected another construction boost.

In all of business, Marketing may be the most important aspect of creating business.
Why? Because it is the breath of business, without people to work with, there are no transactions, and with out any transactions, well, yeah, your broke.

There are only two ways to market, you can either hunt or be the hunted.
I don't know about you, but i would much rather have people calling me, than me bothering them.
Don't get me wrong, some people can call someone they've never met, work them, sell them and have them a listing, thats called selling. And i'm no where near a sellsman, I'm a marketer. I let them come to me, on my turf, where they are priveliged to work with me. Get some swagger, some cockiness, an attitude, your confidence will rise as will your paychecks, trust me.

Cold calling, warm calling, door knocking, bugging your neighbor. I Became so sick of trying to generate business that i completely gave up hunting people trying to get something going!
In turn, I became the Hunted.

• Created an online presence driving prospects to my site, using ad campaigns and SEO
• I create value in they're eyes by representing myself as a Leader in the market.
• They gladly hand over they're information, in return i give them free reports, CMA.
• I build a relationship with them, via Newsletter
• Eventually i receive a call, they either want to list a house, or buy one, sometimes both.
