Landscaping

This week, I decided I was going to find my favorite landscaping job (that I might like to copy lol) in Hunter Pointe and do a picture post dedicated to it. Well, here it is. I absolutely love the bricking and what they did with the front yard. I have no clue what they did to the back, but it probably looks great, as well. Congrats to 1813 Cougar Circle ~ Yard of the Week!

The Christmas Spirit is alive and well in my community!

I love this time of year ~ and I love a good, bright display of Christmas lights. These 2 homes took a lot of time and effort into making their displays colorful and fun, much the way that Clark did in "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (one of my all time favorite movies)! I am so glad to get to share them with my friends here at ActiveRain.

New Construction

The construction is underway on 1812 Caribou Circle

I love to go for walks around my neighborhood, Hunter Pointe, here in Altus and take photographs. I also enjoy driving around Altus and all of Southwest Oklahoma and taking pictures there, as well. I've decided to start documenting these escapades here on my AR blog. I think the beauty and growth of Altus should be shared with the past, present, and future residents alike! I hope you'll all enjoy it!

The 1st of the series is highlighting the new homes being built in the subdivision of Hunter Pointe, which is on the north side of east Tamarack Rd in Altus. There is going to be continued growth in our community for quite a while to come!

Thanks for stopping by!

Is there a such thing as having too much education??

Renae Pretty e-Pro, Altus Homes for Sale Homes for Sale in Altus, OK: Real Estate Agent in Altus, OK

Or perhaps having too many designations?? Maybe taking too many classes or webinars??? Can a REALTOR learn too much information in our industry??

Textbooks

I pose this question to you today because there are some who seem to think that we can. I am currently one designation in and almost done with 4 others. I love classes and webinars and don't think one can take enough continuing education. I love to learn and I see how our industry is ever changing and revolving like a door in a skyscraper. I want to keep changing along with it so I can keep growing my business.

I also ask this ~ can people who are "opposed" to social media (i.e. blogging, Facebook, etc) continue to really grow in this field at the same rate as someone who is. I know that many of them are the more established, referral-based REALTORS, but then, some of them are not. How does a newer REALTOR who isn't into social networking survive in this social media-based time that we are in?

These are all things I would love to hear your opinions and thoughts on. Thanks so much!

How I can take what I learned in my 1st year . . .

Renae Pretty e-Pro, Altus Homes for Sale Homes for Sale in Altus, OK: Real Estate Agent in Altus, OK

And make my 2nd year (and subsequent years) stellar! That is what I am here pondering, as I try to write my 2012 goals down on paper. December is upon me now and I know I need to get them down, but I refuse to comprimise any of them.

I feel like my 1st year (back, after almost 3 years off) was very good to me, but I had my ups and downs of course. There were times I felt I was riding on a high and times I wanted to crawl under my desk and cry like a baby. I held my head as high as I possibly could through everything and will finish 2011 with right under 2 million in sales (at 9 mos back in Real Estate at that point). I am hoping to hit 3 million in sales by March 2012 when I hit my 1 year mark, but I won't beat myself up if I don't.

I want to double my production in the next year. I want to finish and earn more designations. I don't take continuing education because I have to ~ I take classes because I love to learn. I will continue to work on my prospecting and continue to expand my SOI. I love to meet new people and I think that helps tremendously in this career!

I want to keep a positive attitude and pay it forward to others who have helped me along in my journey back into Real Estate. Taking almost 3 years off is just like starting all over. You remember the basics of how to treat people, but everything is a re-learning process.

I'm grateful to ActiveRain and all the advice I have received on here. I am not going anywhere from this site anytime soon! Thank you all!
