Lansbrook in Oklahoma City, A Boots on the Ground Tour!

The best way to really see a neighborhood is by putting your boots on the ground a take a tour. Unfortunately, when you are searching for a home in the Oklahoma City metro, that can be difficult. Who has time to take a walking tour of every addition being considered?
So, I bring you the first Boots on the Ground Tour! From time to time, I will take a walk through additions in Edmond and NW Oklahoma City. Then report back to you with a REALTOR's perspective and even a few snapshots! Now, won't that make things easier for you?

Today's Boots on the Ground Tour is of the beloved Oklahoma City neighborhood, Lansbrook. Established in the early 1970's Lansbrook is located in NW Oklahoma City near MacArthur and Britton. It is just a few miles north of the Turnpike and just west of Lake Hefner. There are plenty of shopping and dining opportunities along Northwest Expressway which is very close by.

As I walked through Lansbrook yesterday, I found a quiet park-like setting throughout. Many of the streets curve and meander through the neighborhood and there are quite a few cul-de-sacs which are always popular. I was not alone walking. I noticed many residents out and about walking, biking and gardening.

I saw a wide variety of architectural styles ranging from Mediteranian to traditional. I noticed that many of the homes have is courtyards in front. I think this was one of my favorite features! While most of the homes were built in the 1970's, it looks like many have been well maintained and updated along the way. But I think you could easily find a fixer upper if you like DIY!

Central to the neighborhood is Lansbrook Lake. The lake is banked by large parks, and picnic areas complete with grills. What a great place for a morning walk, or a kiddo's birthday party! The lake is also the future site of a Veteran's Memorial. The memorial was funded by a recent garage sale in the neighborhood (not HOA dues.) Several homes in the addition back to the lake.
