Toronto Water Supply - Lead Testing
If your home was built before 1955 in the City of Toronto, you can request free water testing to help determine if your home's water supply comes into contact with lead pipes.
Prior to 1955, many service connections were made of lead. Service connections are pipes that attach the private residence to the watermain running down the street. According to the City of Toronto's website, approximately 65,000 service connections out of the over 470,000 service connections in the City of Toronto are made of lead.
For details about the free water testing, visit the City of Toronto's website at www.toronto.ca/water/supply/
