About Toronto's Toronto Waterfront

The Toronto Waterfrontis open to the public. This is made possible by the Harbourfront Centre which is a Canadian charity that operates the 10-acre site.

Various Courses and Workshops are conducted by the Harbourfront Centre. There are courses on Web and Social Media, Photography, Performing Arts etc., for those who are interested in a fun environment, at a great location, by Lake Ontario.

The Harbourfront Centre is a non-profit organization that provides arts, culture, education and recreation. The location is 235 Queens Quay W., Toronto.

Toronto Waterfront –Port Lands

A public meeting will be held on December 12^th, 2011 at the Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge St.

The meeting will provide a summary of the work-to-date and an overview of the opportunities and challenges for the development.

This meeting will give the public an opportunity to question and discuss the goals for the Waterfront Toronto’s plan for the Port Lands.

Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on the new date Oct 16, 2011. Come and join, and help your Neighbourhood win. The best neighbourhood group performing on the marathon route, cheering on the runners will win prize money for their local charity.

There are 12 Cheering and Entertainment Centres along the route including Windermere Rd., Cherry St., Kew Gardens and the St Lawrence Market

It's that time of year in Toronto again. Nuit Blanche will soon be upon us. This year it will be bigger and better than ever. It seems to be one of those events that captures people's imaginations and grows in stature every year.

Nuit Blanche is an all night affair that occurs one night a year. Downtown Toronto is transformed into an all night art show. The lights are so bright in certain corners that it seems almost like mid-day (hence the name nuit blanche).

There will be all kinds of performers, ranging from the types who should probably be locked up in an asylum to some very clever people who put together interesting shows and displays. In any case, there will probably be almost a million people wandering around, so there's no need to be worried about being trapped in some dark corner by a man in make-up wearing tights, juggling live animals while blowing Lithuanian marching songs on a didgeridoo. It's really just about a whole group of people having fun and being amused.

The activities start at 6.59 P.M. on October 1, and will go straight through until dawn. I'm probably not going to be one of those people who are still wandering around when the sun comes up. I do however, plan to take it all in for a few hours. Stay tuned for some pictures next week, or better yet, come down to Toronto and experience it for yourself and post your own pictures. I'm sure you'll be able to get some good ones.
