Last Weekend wrapped up Brookings~Harbor Children's Theater's production of Disney's Beauty & The Beast.

I was overwhelmed with the support from the community towards their children. All shows last weekend were sold out!

I heard one comment from someone in the audience...."Did they bring an actress from Disneyland to play the part of Belle? She sounds just like the Belle from the movie!"

There were over 50 cast members ranging in age from 5 to 70 something! The costumes were fabulous and the energy unbelievable! All the hard work paid off with a spectacular performance! Enjoy the photos!

If you are seeking solace in an incredibly gorgeous surrounding, Harris State Beach just north of Brookings Oregon is the place for you. Harris Beach is just a little over 2 hours from Medford Oregon, yet it is a world away.

Do you like to explore Tide Pools?

Hike through the forests bordering the ocean?

Walk along the beach?

Watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean?

My family loves this quiet, well groomed campground with beautiful spaces arranged to gain the most privacy for each one - enough to break a rule we have of always trying to see somewhere new on our RV excursions! Harris State Beach was just the ticket for us this incredible autumn weekend. Off season at Harris State Beach is wonderful, and with the crowds gone it felt like it was just us and the wildlife.

Sporthaven Beach Sunset ~ Brookings, Oregon

Sporthaven Beach is situated between the ocean and the harbor of Brookings, Oregon. The surfing is good here and there are ample parking spots that are located right along the beach. A local favorite, this area is a great place to watch the beach activities during the summer from the comfort of your own car. In winter, it also gives people front seats to watch the winter storms come ashore without having to get wet!

Fall Colors on the Chetco River ~ Brookings, Oregon

The Chetco River begins in the rugged, isolated terrain of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness and makes its way down to the Pacific, separating the towns of Brookings and Harbor. Almost all the river is located in the Siskiyou National Forest, except for the lower 5 miles. In winter, salmon and steelhead fishing are the primary recreational uses. In summer, fishing, swimming, boating, camping, and picnicking are the major attractions. The river features many vehicle-friendly gravel bars that extend along several sections of the river of which are a popular destination for locals during the summertime to swim, camp, barbeque, and lounge in the sun along the beauty of the crystal-clear waters.
