This is the latest update regarding the Bypass: A big thanks to the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce for keeping us informed!
A note from our President...You've no doubt heard by now that a transportation bill with specific funding in the amount of $192 million for Phase I of the Newberg/Dundee Bypass was forwarded to the House of Representatives last Friday afternoon following a unanimous vote of the Joint Committee on Transportation. All of our region's legislators deserve our heartfelt thanks, none more so however than Representative Jim Weidner, a member of the Joint Committee who although philosophically opposed to raising taxes and fees voiced his support of the bill at this critical juncture. The bill now moves to the House floor for deliberation and a subsequent vote which will likely take place this week. We have expressed our personal thanks to Representative Weidner for keeping the economic needs of our region at the top of his priority list and I encourage you to add your own message of thanks. Jim Weidner's email address is rep.jimweidner@state.or.us.
