I was getting ready to go to a meeting in my office one beautiful June morning, when this fellow came sauntering through my backyard. The stars were aligned just right and I was able to snap this photo from my open home office window! I used my Kodak Easy Share Z981 camera which has a 26X Optical Zoom to take the amazing shot.
That magical morning reminded me as we go about our daily routine it is easy to get into a grind and forget about the wonderful things that surround us. Don't focus on what you don't have or wish you had. Stop for a moment and look around you, you will see the things that you can be truly thankful for. Whether it is your children, spouse, parents, siblings, friends, a pet, a roof over your head, food to eat, or just the fantastic world of nature that we have been blessed with.
Take time out today to look around you. I'm sure if you think about it, you will find many things to be thankful for. Take a moment to reflect upon those things and you will have centered yourself in a place that is very peaceful. You will then be ready to move on in a positive direction that will benefit you and those around you.

Looks like summers last wave came through yesterday and my kids took full advantage by heading to my parent’s house and heading to Deep Creek. Deep Creek is a little off shoot of the Clackamas River and over the years the kids in family have slowly built a little shoot of water to ride our inner tubes down. My kids got to enjoy that yesterday one last time before fall and cooler weather arrive making it not only too cool to probably do this, but the water levels get pretty high during the fall and winter months as well.

After 34 years, this 1976 ranch home just outside Portland Oregon needed updating before the sellers could put it on the market. The process began when they contacted my company for a home staging consultation, where we walked through the entire home as well as the outside spaces. The sellers were given an action plan showing which cosmetic improvements would provide the best return when selling -- this included painting, new cabinet hardware, replacing light fixtures, replacing old carpeting where needed, updating the kitchen countertops, removing dated window coverings, etc. I encouraged the sellers to keep the price point of the home in mind whenever making decisions on which improvements would yield the best return.
Throughout the process (which lasted over a year) the sellers gave me updates on the various projects, and I helped them select some hardware and light fixtures. They were delightful to work with, and very motivated to have their home appeal to the target buyer! We worked with the seller's existing furniture, adding some art and accessories from our home staging inventory for an inviting look.
Here are some Before & After photos of this home's transformation, starting with the living room (which had dated window coverings & older carpeting) ....


The kitchen needed updated lighting, laminate countertops, paint, new faucet & cabinet hardware ... and the low cabinet separating it from the nook area needed to be removed. Once that was done, it was so much more open & modern!



The dining room got a style update with paint, a new light fixture, and removal of the window coverings ... 

This Bedroom just needed a few accessories and new carpeting for a fresher more modern look ... 

This Bathroom received updated light fixtures, painted cabinets, and a new shower enclosure to match the new faucet ...

Another Kodak moment on the old homestead. Seems like prime photo opportunity time always comes when I'm getting ready to walk out the door to go into the office! These bucks and a doe showed up one morning to partake in the delights of our apple orchard. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful and amazing place to call home.
