This is along the Oregon coast and I thought it was appropriate as we are getting ready this morning to head out to go crabbing and bottom fishing. I'm really hoping we don't see this many rough waves where we are going, because getting wet is not really in my plans today. (LOL)

Ok, day two of the mini vacation with the wife for anniversary didn’t produce a picture of the resident whale in Depoe Bay as we had hoped. But, we did see a few sea lions a couple harbor seals and did have a heck a lot of fun. We started out our day heading out on a whale site seeing tour, we thought that would at least give us some shot of a whale. (But, no luck this time)
Here are the pictures from today. But tomorrow we may have another shot at seeing the whale as we are going out on the ocean again for a 5 hour bottom fishing and crabbing trip. Follow me on twitter and maybe, just maybe we will be able to get some pictures of our catch.

This pictures was taken with the help of my wife as I hung out over the
edge
of the boat, she fired off the shots with the remote

There is no
better way to enjoy your anniversary than to set the camera on auto and
sit with your loved one and enjoy the sunset. There were
300 pictures taken of the sunset while my wife sat and enjoyed, but
this one was my favorite of all of them. I'm thinking about putting
together a video showing the sunset in time lapse.

A view from Depoe Bay.... By the way an interesting fact about Depoe Bay, Oregon is that it was originally Depot Bay named after Charles Depot, but when the post office showed up in the 1930's they basically, well as most governments are, were stupid and changed it to Depoe. So now Depot bay is Depoe and its claim to fame is the world smallest harbor. (Weird, I know, but they do have a year round what watching as they have one whale that lives in the bay year round)

(Depoe Bay, Oregon)
Barbi and I took our families out to the Oregon Coast this last week for the Tahoma and Kent School District's Spring Break. It was a fabulous time! We had two condominiums on Depoe Bay and although rainy for the first part of the week, there was plenty of sunshine "breaks" with a lot more sun for the weekend. We didn't want to leave!
Besides sightseeing... we did some coastal shopping at some great antique and junk stores... of course! I found a lovely piece of driftwood -- already varhished and mounted so I don't have to do it! Barbi and her boys collected a bunch of driftwood on the beach... get in on the fun... driftwood looks really earthy and nice in a beautiful arrangement or as a single "sculpture." I even saw it in a beautiful room display in the "House Beautiful" magazine I'm reading!
