Multnomah Village, Portland Oregon's Eclectic fun Neighborhood ~ and a great place to call home!
Multnomah Village is an historic neighborhood in Southwest Portland Oregon. It's center stretches along SW Capitol Highway and Multnomah Blvd, less than a 10-minute drive to downtown Portland. Starting out in the early 1900's as a tiny railroad stop for Portlanders traveling north or south, it has become a destination all its own. Home to many of the area's most popular restaurants and cafes, Multnomah Village is a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll past its storefronts along SW Capitol Highway.

In Multnomah Village you'll also find many locally-owned interesting and fun specialty shops, galleries and antiques shops. It's a Walker's Paradise with a very high walk score and also has excellent public transportation access via TriMet.
Nearby Gabriel Park is a 90-acre nearby park with lighted tennis courts, dog off-leash areas, picnic facilities, a skatepark, baseball field and basketball courts, a Community vegetable garden, and lots of walking paths. The park is a popular spot for anyone wanting to connect with nature and has a serene peaceful atmosphere within the city. (the adorable dog pictured here is my own Darby O'Gill, a native of Ireland who immigrated when I moved back to Oregon.)
Another landmark in Multnomah Village is the Multnomah Center. Years ago it was the Multnomah Grade School but is now home to community art activities, Portland Parks Bureau, Southwest Neighborhood association, a wide variety of adult education classes, and several senior citizen services including the Neighborhood House Senior Center.
The home styles in Multnomah Village include many Craftsman bungalows built in the 1920's as well as ranch homes and contemporary homes of the 50's to 70's, and condominium complexes within a stone's throw of the center of Multnomah Village.
