Whats odd about this picture in New Castle PA?

New Castle, Ellwood City, Beaver

What''s odd about this picture in New Castle PA is the fact that there is an Amish Carriage in a drive-thru beer distributor. I have never seen that before. Then again I don't drink alchol so I would not be in a drive-thru beer distributor but I do know the area and know there are Amish in the area. I'm not sure how many of you have every been to Amish country but I really enjoy. It's always nice and peaceful. The Amish take alot of pride in their work. I have had them make a few things for me in the past and it was always built to perfection. So if you think about it... They work hard and may want to grab a case of beer on the way home, so I should not be shocked to see their Carriage in a drive-thru beer distributor.

100% USDA Mortgages in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania

Keith Landis - Pennsylvania Mortgages : Loan Officer in Pittsburgh, PA

Looking to purchase a home in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania?

You might want to make a quick check to see if you and the property are eligible for a USDA Mortgage, also known as a USDA Rural Development Loan.

Here's Why...

USDA home loans offer a few benefits that other mortgage programs cannot match: including no down payment and financed closing cost. If the home appraisal allows, the closing costs can also be wrapped into the mortgage resulting in no money needed at the closing table.

USDA is the only mortgage program that allows for all closing costs to be financed into the loan amount on a home purchase. Interest rates for USDA mortgages are comparable and often lower than the low fixed rates of Conventional, FHA and VA financing.

The USDA Mortgage program does have restrictions when it comes to location and income, so a quick check on this key qualifying criteria should be done first. Even if you do not believe the property you are looking to purchase is considered rural, it might be worth a quick property eligibility check. It is often surprising how many properties are actually USDA Eligible even though they are considered to be in a town or suburban area.

In addition, if you believe your household income may be too high to qualify for USDA, it worth a quick look at the USDA income requirements. The USDA allows for many deductions that may help you meet the USDA maximum income restrictions.

Bob Gerstel is in charge of it.
Hi Folks my name is Bob Gerstel and I’m a novice photographer, retired graphic designer, currently living in Harrison City Pa, about an hour and a half south of the park. I’ve only been to the area twice and have never taken the time or had the right equipment with me to do any serious photography. It’s a perfect place and perfect time of the year to return and hopefully capture some special shots. McConnells Mill State Park is a 2546 acre Pennsylvania state park in Perry and Slippery Rock Townships, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania in the United States. The park features a deep scenic gorge with the restored watermill and a covered bridge at the bottom, accessible by a roadway that winds between large, room-sized boulders on the hillside. McConnells Mill State Park is along the Slippery Rock Creek. Be prepared, this isn’t an easy area to get to and is a pretty good hike from the parking area down to the covered bridge and old mill but the scenes are worth the hike. The Mill offers tours on the weekends until labor day to see the inside workings of the mill, however it will be closed for the tour when we gather for the walk. If the timings wright and the leaves are changing this should provide some really nice photo ops. Feel free to contact me at any time with questions and check back here often for any updates. If Saturday turns out to be a terrible day we’ll shoot for Sunday.

McConnells Mill is a very beautiful place. To register for the Photo Walk please go to http://worldwidephotowalk.com/walk/mcconnells-mill-state-park/ and register.

I should be there. I have been going there for 20 years and know the trails well.

McConnell's Mill Heritage Fastival

History is in motion at the 16th Annual Heritage Festival at McConnells Mill State Park. The festival celebrates the operational time period of the historical gristmill—from 1852 to 1928, and costumed vendors will display their crafts inspired by this time. Music and free special tours of the mill will be offered. A new turbine has been installed in the McConnell’s gristmill to demonstrate corn grinding and the fascinating machinery that ground the grain for the community surrounding Slippery Rock Gorge.
Entertainment for the festival includes bluegrass music by “Mountain Therapy,” cloggers, and old time music by “Elk Creek Family Band.” A civil war encampment brings history to life, and artisans & craftsmen will demonstrate their skills throughout the festival. Animals, games and face painting are available for children. Free hayride shuttle to the mill. Lots of good food!
The Portersville-Prospect Rotary Club, aided by several local businesses and non-profit organizations, sponsors the Festival. Admission and parking are free.
