This Saturday Jan.7,2012 West Lampeter Twp. will kickoff the first of four 2012 community collection days. The first follows the holidays where many have purchased all types of new electronic devices which have relegated old equipment to closets and basements , never to be used again. Last collection day (held in 2011) saw the collection of 3,000 lbs. of e-waste alone ! The West Lampeter Twp. recycling committee is accepting cardboard boxes, styrofoam packaging materials, computers and phone books in addition to items outlined on it's website. some of the items collected like cardboard actually help offset township costs for removal of collected items.

The event starts at 9:00 and runs through noon. It's location is the rear of the township building located on 852 Village Rd.,Lampeter,PA. For more details and a list of acceptable items visit the townships website.

Although the park is located between Route 340 and the outlets area of Route 30, it's off Hobson Road, a country road, and it has a quiet, private atmosphere.
