Rob Bowman and Team Charter
Charter Homes a 2011 National Builder of the Year
Charter Homes & Neighborhoods, based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is a National Builder of the Year. The Charter team won three of the most coveted awards in the homebuilding industry award during 2011; a National Housing Quality Award, a Safety Excellence Award and an ENERGY STAR® Leadership in Housing Award.
The National Housing Quality Award (NHQA) represents the homebuilding industry's highest recognition for quality achievement and operational excellence. Since 1992, 120 homebuilders have won a NHQA and since that time only 5 of those winners are no longer in business. Evaluated alongside the nation’s biggest and best homebuilders, Charter’s team was recognized for excellence across every aspect of its business.
In February (2011), Charter received the Single Family Builder Safety Program Award of Excellence. The award, presented by the National Association of Home Builders, recognizes builders who have developed and implemented industry-leading construction safety programs.
In May, the Environmental Protection Agency named Charter Homes a 2011 Energy Star Leadership in Housing Award winner. This award recognizes builders who promote energy efficient construction and help to protect the environment through their partnership with Energy Star. Charter Homes qualifies every home it builds to the Energy Star® standard, which was established by the EPA. Since 2008, Charter has built hundreds of energy star certified homes in Central Pennsylvania. Energy Star® qualified homes are 20-30% more energy-efficient than standard homes and save homeowners thousands of dollars over the lifetime of their home.
