Oh what a night....... in New Castle, Pennsylvania......the night glow of the hot air balloon show was an amazing show to watch. Hundreds of residents and far away visitors enjoy the " perfect weather day "
The balloons tonight were inflated and were on the ground only. The first launch is scheduled between 6:00 and 7:00 Friday morning, weather permitting. I spent a couple hours strolling the usually peaceful Scotland Meadows Park in Union Townships.
The summer sounds of fun filled the air from the many amusement rides and country music blared from the main sound stage that welcomed all,.. to New Castle.".Fireworks capital of America "
"I checked out the many ducks who have claimed the Scotland Meadows Park in Union Township as their home.....did they mind the intrusion, carousel music and Kelly Pickler singing her heart out?
They just didn't seem to mind..just waiting for a bit of food tossed their way and taking it all in stride..just doing what ducks do.
I will in my next blog create a slide show to share with all of you . There is still a lot of action packed into the week end so check out the schedule and I hope I see you there...Smile you may show up in the slide show

To all our " Hot Air Ballloon Quest " followers here is a copy of the schedule for the rest of the celebration

New Castle residents prepare to enjoy the annual street fair on the downtown corridor, regardless of severe weather warnings.
The afternoon photos show a sparse crowd. Only the brave ventured out in the high humidity almost 90 degree temperatures.
Early afternoon was the perfect time to take photos of the vendors, before the evening cools, and the crowds descend on on the
activities and food featured at this years festival. Although the gentle breeze took the edge off the high humidity and high
temperature it certainly was an afternoon for the brave at heart
This evening with the promise of a fireworks display will bring hundreds of people to help celebrate the" New Castle Street Fair "
A short walk around the block " Mary Mother of Hope Parish " added to the festivities with it's yearly " Summer fest "
Volunteer members of the parish dedicated to the event, spent months of planning, weeks of preparing food and many dedicated
volunteers gathered together accomplish again, another successful Summer fest. Adult and children alike were not only enjoyed
ethnic and traditional foods but also were entertained with festivities, board games, music and entertainment. If you missed it this
year, be sure to come next year. It certainly is one of New Castle's popular events of the summer.
