About Philadelphia's Northern Liberties

Healthy is cool. At least that was the vibe I was feeling at the 1st Natural Living Expo that took place in Liberty Lands Park in Northern Liberties. There were all kinds of vendors out showing passersby what they do in their neck of the natural living world. There was yoga, healthy food, vitamins, activities for the kids, homeopathy, a farmer’s market, and lots of fun! I really had a blast and so did a lot of other people. Here is a short video clip of my experience at the Natural Living Expo.

Featured practitioners include: Cheryl Broad (acupuncturist, RN) from Art of Wellness Center on 647 Bainbridge Street in beautiful Bella Vista and Ploome's very own sassy hula hoop dancers. Love them! Ploome is located at 1040 N American Street on Liberties Walk and Loving Hut is at 742 South Street.

From the NLNA: Bring all your electronic junk - TVs, computers, toasters, printers, window AC unites - if it has a circuit board, we can probably take it! A small bunch of stuff that fits in one of our milk crates crates costs just $2 to recycle. A larger bunch or a large item costs just $5. In most cases this means it'll cost less than ever to responsibly recycle your stuff.

When it comes to natural living, Northern Liberties is the place to be. So we're excited to see an event like this next month at Liberty Lands Park, which includes a free yoga session from Sculpere Studio, face painting and balloon art for children, tons of local vendors including Philly's newest adult playground Ploome, and more...hope to see you there!

Everyone knows that Cantina Dos Segundos has great food, killer margaritas, super attentive servers and, did I mention good food because the food is REALLY GOOD!

Dos Segundos also has some of the most fashion forward servers in Northern Liberties. We LOVE the cool way they dress. Everyone has their own unique style and they are always on trend. Jill was dressed with a Victorian-inspired green velvet dress and gold spectators. Rachel showed her exotic side with leopard print shoes and skinny jeans.  Marie and Sherry were looking fantastic in white. Sherry's flowing oversize white tee with a medallion necklace was the epitome of casual glam and Marie's layered look is what we are seeing all over the runways this fall.

Go girls. You look beautiful!

Oh and P. S.: This week's Snapper Ceviche with fingerling potatoes and corn is delicious and spicy. The black bean soup was yummy, too!
