Selling Your Philadelphia Home? Think Twice Before Listing With Your Best Friend

Selling Your Philadelphia Home? Think Twice Before Listing With Your Best Friend

Selling your Philadelphia Home is a big decision. Who are you going to list with? Your best friend? A good friend? Someone you know or a premier listing agent that services your area? These are the questions to ask yourself whether it be your primary residence or even an investment property that you own. Too often I hear after the fact, "Well I gave the listing to so and so because I thought he would do a good job." This sale is going to bring in proceeds for you, or perhaps save you from a foreclosure. It is a big decision. You need expert advice from someone that is independent and who is an expert in the marketplace. You need someone that you can trust, but not someone that is going to "yes" you to death and not someone that is going to tell you what you want to hear.

Selling Your Philadelphia Home?

Or perhaps your friend is only in the business part-time and not up to all the changes in real estate or does not provide maximum exposure for listings (video, blog, enhancing listings) or is just an outright crappy negotiator? Or even if your friend is a great agent, they may be soft with you in terms of where your listing price should be, thus you question why your property is not selling? I have heard one too many times that these friendships can get soured through these real estate trials and errors. So why even bother in markets like these? List with the friend during the seller markets when the friend does not have to do too much and do your research to list with someone who goes the extra mile and stands above the crowd in these tough markets. What sellers need now (more than ever) are the best agents that are honest, that are not afraid to tell the truth, that are the best negotiators for their clients and who excel in giving them the maximum exposure for their listing - to get it SOLD.

Not for nothing, we are easy to find. You already know where to find us.

Whatever Happens at HUSH Salon Stays at HUSH Salon

Christopher and Stephanie Somers - Realtors - Philadelphia Real Estate : Real Estate Agent in Philadelphia, PA

I have never been known as a Gossip Queen. Not even a Gossip Girl. I am more of a secret keeper. A locked vault. I am no name dropper! (As evidenced by the blog I wrote called Blame it on the Sangria) So, naturally I gravitated to HUSH Salon. I mean, with a name like "HUSH" they obviously share my private and refined sensibility when it comes to keeping things on the down low.

So, if you think I am going to share with you the names of the two people who made my hair look movie star fabulous (RUTH and NICK) then you must not know me well at all. That you even considered for one moment I'd tell you who did my shimmering highlights (RUTH) then you have another thing coming. And if you were wondering who cut and styled my hair to ultimate perfection (NICK) I will never tell! A girl has a right to her beauty secrets (RUTH and NICK).

What happens at HUSH Salon, stays at Hush Salon.

If you are wondering where HUSH Salon is located... I won't tell you. But I will say that it is a few doors down from my favorite Old City Starbucks Coffee Shop and SWEAT Gym.

And, um... you didn't hear it from me!

If there's one person in Philadelphia who knows something about brightening a mood, it's Candy Depew, the colorful Philadelphia artist who is shaking things up with her "House Tattoo".

Now Depew wants to teach others some "candycoated" skills during the chilly months of January and February, with silkscreen-printing classes at her studio in Old City. Get out of the house, brave the snow-crusted sidewalks, and learn something new this winter. The CandyCoated Center

What's New in Old City: There's No Place Like a Jonathan Adler Decorated Home for the Holidays

Christopher and Stephanie Somers - Realtors - Philadelphia Real Estate : Real Estate Agent in Philadelphia, PA

Just in time for the holidays, a Jonathan Adler home decor and furniture store has opened in Old City, which is the Philadelphia mecca for furniture and design. We went over to check things out and we just want to say, Welcome to Third Street!

Currently, the gorgeous two-floor store is showcasing their holiday ornaments and there are plenty of giftable items among the retro-chic displays throughout the shop. If you're looking for some extra special touches (whether you're selling and will be showing this season, or just moved in and it's your first Christmas), we're sure you can find something bright and inviting here. Go visit and let us know what you think!

We also hear that Mr. Adler himself will be visiting the store on the evening of Wednesday, December 15 (hey, that's tomorrow, already) so stop by and meet JA.
