I get that we all need a vacation especially in this business. It seems that it may be hard to get away and not do any real estate. If you choose NOT to answer your phone than have someone cover for you! Take them to lunch, give a gift card to their favorite store, or offer to return the favor if they need someone to cover. Be A Professional. It is not fair to your clients, other agents, & other agents clients. Don't expect the listing agent to show the house unless you have made arrangements before you leave.

I have tried to make any appointment with a NEW listing for 3 days! The instructions are 24 hour notice, Listing agent must accompany. I have left 2 messages on her cell, 1 at her office, and spoke to someone this morning who told me she was away this weekend! I also called her office this weekend a few times and the message said the hours they were open but NO ONE WAS ANSWERING THE PHONE!!! This is a fixer upper property and I'm sure her sellers would like me to show it. I have a cash buyer!!!

While I'm on vacation I tell all my clients, have messages on my phone and email! But I ALWAYS have my wonderful partner Linda Tremblay ready to do whatever needs to be done. The same goes for Linda when she is away. We all win! We get great vacations and our sellers and buyers get the best service!
