Quakertown School District will be closing Haycock Elementary at the end of this school year. They district has been trying to do for many years and the school was on the chopping block last year and the board kept it open one more year. They expressed the cost to repair the school would be too much and there was really isn't room to expand if needed. The parents and children are really upset of course.
The full story can be found through The Intelligencer
Haycock is a rural area and there isn't any large housing development. There isn't a big turn over in resales in the area and very few new construction homes. Most of the township is state gamelands for Lake Nockamixon and county owned park, Lake Towhee. This has reflect the school enrollment in the area. There are many people that do not have children who live at home anymore. The 3 nearest elementary schools are not that far away. The 3 schools are Richland, Neidig, & Quakertown Elementary.
Visit the Quakertown Community School District Site to view the area schools.

People ask me all the time why I decided to open my own Real Estate Office? After all, I was a successful Sales Manager with the largest firm in the market and likely could have stayed there for many years if I chose to. It certainly would have been a safer bet, especially with 2 kids in college. I have to admit part of the reasoning was selfish on my part. I wanted the opportunity to run a business myself. I’m also very fortunate to have a supportive wife who happens to have a full time job as a Nurse (Thank you Trina). But I also got to see up close what works and what doesn’t in the Real Estate business. The traditional model of an office with many agents, some good, some not so good, but all charging the same high fees has created a need in the marketplace for an alternative business model. Assist 2 Sell Buyers and Sellers Advantage provides the full service that consumers want but charge a low flat fee. Consumers benefit by often saving thousands in commissions and I benefit because more consumers are attracted to my brand. My goal is to have the most “consumer-centric” Real Estate Company in the area. Although I still have alot to learn, I’m starting to see the results of my efforts. I like the fact that consumers can go to my website (www.QuakertownAreaHomes.com), and with a few clicks of the mouse, learn about my programs, my basic marketing plan and the fees I charge. Sounds pretty basic but try finding that stuff on any of my competitors websites.
If you are interested in selling or buying a home in Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh or Northampton Counties or surrounding areas, please contact me to see how I can save you money.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania is a county full of history. In Quakertown, you can enjoy a meal at an inn full of history and serving some good food. The Red Lion's owners and staff are proud to provide an upscale atmosphere on a working man's budget.
McCoole's is located at the interesction of Broad and Main St in Quakertown, PA. In 1750 it was opened and named McCoole's Tavern, until 1793 when the name was changed to the Red Lion Hotel. The hotel was expanded in 1810 and 1865, allowing visitors a place to stay while passing through Quakertown on the railroad system. The inn was recently renovated and reopened as a bar and restaurant and named McCoole's at the Red Lion Inn. They have also reopened the Main Street Threatre which was originally used as a livery stable for the hotel.
Their menu offers everything from appetizers, or burgers and wraps (from $7 to $10) to pasta and dinner
entrees (from steaks to seafood). Enjoy you mean with a nice bottle of wine, glass of beer or wine, or specialty coffee. Save room for dessert.
If you are looking to buy or sell a home in the Quakertown Real Estate market, Linda Tremblay and Marcie Purcell, both live in the area and know the area well. Put our expertise to work for you. We are full time, full service agents and would love to help you.
