Rothsville, PA

The White Swan Restaurant and Bar, Lititz, PA is located in the small village of Rothsville and has a notable history. This is the oldest building in Rothsville, dating back to 1790. The original business was Roth's Tavern begun by Philip Roth. It was a stopping spot for weary travellers providing food, drink and lodging.

In 2010, the present owners purchased the property and have lovingly restored it to its former glory. The property had fallen on hard times, but now sits at the juncture of route 772 and Newport Road. It was renamed to White Swan, a name dating back to 1940 when Fannie Miller named it that.

Jill Gilson, a member of The Living in Lancaster Group - Cal Yoder, recently ate at this establishment. She has eaten there on a regular basis. On this occasion, she enjoyed the cheesy crab dip, french onion soup and chef's salad. She rated the food as good to very good. Service did not receive the same stellar rating. The parking lot located adjacent to the building is smaller, but ample parking is available every evening at the parking lot across the street.
