MTV is filming a performance Thursday night at our very own Sherman Theatre, located on Main Street in Stroudsburg. The performance is from hip-hop emcee, Asher Roth. The doors open at 7pm, and the show starts a 8. There have already been 800 tickets sold!!!

The theater's executive director, Rich Berkowitz, collaborated with East Stroudsburg University to produce this big-ticket show. A promotions class at the college is in charge of putting on the show, and Mr. Berkowitz allowed them to use the venue to show the class what it takes to put on a real-life concert.

Because the show is a mile or two off campus, there will be bus service from the Dansbury Commons area of the school to the theater starting at 6 p.m.

How will YOU celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the Poconos? There's always Siamsa Irish Pub, located on the corner of 7th and Main Streets right in Stroudsburg. It is an authentic Irish Pub in a Stroudsburg historic building. The Bar was designed by Irish Designers, built in a Factory in Ireland, shipped to Stroudsburg and assembled by Irish Craftsmen. And don't forget about the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg! It's Sunday, March 22, and begins at 1pm from the Stroudsburg High School.

The Poconos is getting a new restaurant, The Olive Garden, opening Monday, March 23! It is right on Rt 611 in Stroudsburg, just north of the Stroud Mall. It is the newest Tuscan Farmhouse design restaurant, and will only be open for dinner the first week beginning at 4pm. Monday March 30, it will open its doors at 11am and serve lunch daily. Nearly 165 jobs are being created, which is also great news! If you're looking for a new place to try in Stroudsburg, head to the new Olive Garden!!

Our daughter Emily will be 13 years old on Tuesday so we had a Birthday party for her last night with some family & friends...I wanted a special cake for her special birthday so I searched the internet for specialty cakes (like the ones I see on TV)... I found Merry's Cakes and was happy to find that they were close by and actually made nice looking cakes...

We ordered the cake from Merry's Custom Cakes in Stroudsburg and it was beautiful & delicious... I have never had a cake from there before but let me tell you I will order from Merry's cakes again & again!!!

I had no idea that this shop even existed but everyone at the party now knows where to find them because the cake was great!! The shop is built into the front of their home & tucked away off of Shafer's Schoolhouse Road, she has made thousands of cakes and so many different designs too...

Emily's face when I brought the cake home was priceless and she was so happy with the Irish designs all around and her picture even on the cake... Everyone loved the look and taste of the cake, it smelled so good on the way home that I wanted to sneak a taste (but I didn't).
