The Main Line Antiques Show kicks off this weekend on the 12th and 13th November at the Radnor Valley Country Club in Villanova with the opening night preview party tomorrow evening 11/11/11, hopefully an auspicious date. Last year, the opening night was a major success, I can be seen below with Presenting Sponsor Steve and Kathy Bajus at the Preview Party in the booth of Port N'Starboard one of our exhibitors who returned this year.

We have had some great publicity with one of our dealers Sue Stone of Eve Stone Antiques on the 10 Show with some of her exhibits yesterday.

The show has a wonderful lecture series associated with it, the theme this year being the Mansions of the Main Line with three lectures over Saturday and Sunday. Admission of $12 to the show also allows access to the lectures, space permitting. All proceeds benefit Surrey Services for Seniors a great charity serving over 7000 people through the area.

There are 32 dealers exhibiting at the show with a wide selection of objects from Copper and Brass, Silver, furniture, ceramics, jewelry, fine art, memorabilia and assorted antiques that don't quite fir a category but that are interesting and could maybe find a home in your house. I look forward to seeing you over the weekend.

Many of the dealers from last year have returned, and the new additions have lifted the level of the show to new heights. If you have never been to an antique show then take time over the weekend of November 12th and 13th to stop by, there is a cafe and cash bar with plenty of seating for those who want to spend a little longer and catering is being provided by the Radnor Valley Country Club. More than 30 antique and art dealers from the East Coast and as far away as Maine and Chicago are attending bringing with them some beautiful items that they are very willing to educate you about and which they hope may be suitable for decorating your home.

As any decorator will tell you, even just one well placed item can lift an entire room. Prices are at every level giving you an opportunity to buy gifts for the holidays, weddings or even a birthday gift. The Main Line Antiques Show 2010 raised a record amount of funds for the beneficiary Surrey Services for Seniors. As chair of the show I am in the picture above with Steve & Kathy Bajus, major sponsors at the preview party in the booth of Port 'n Starboard a new exhibitor for this year.

In every way the show shone, with many new exhibitors, new visitors, a new location at Radnor Valley Country Club and great feedback from dealers and visitors alike. The layout of the booths throughout the country club set off the club and also allowed the antiques and art being displayed to stand out magnificently.

We had a record number of visitors to the show this year, with the lecture series on Visiting the Main Line - Railroad Ties being a major success with standing room only at both events on the Saturday at the show. With food available and somewhere to sit, many visitors took advantage of resting their feet and enjoying a drink and either a sandwich or saled before looking around the remainder of the show. With thirty one dealers from up and down the East Coast there was plenty to see and enjoy as well with a great mix of pictures, paintings and prints, furniture of different styles and ages with porcelain, pottery, jewelry, metalware, folk art and sporting goods there was something for everyone.
