I have a lovely older couple that I working with. We've known each other for quite a while, although they say years, I don't believe it's quite that long. We first met when they called me about one of my listings. I met them out at the house, we got along like a house on fire (God, I love that expression), and we have been looking here and there ever since. They really want to downsize, stay in the area, and have a manageable maintenance fee on a town home or condo.
These people are just the nicest people you want to meet, and I email them regulary with listings, I call them and go see them and I really enjoy them. Last week, I emailed them the lastest price reduction on new construction in our area, a lovely 55 and older community called the The Arbours at West Goshen. Now, you know, being in this business for over 20 years, we had the talk. Please do not go into new construction without me. Sure, they say.
Last evening, I got a lovely email from an agent named Janice Roosevelt. Janice was at the site yesterday when my lovely couple decided to go over and check out the new pricing that I had sent them! Yep... they did. They went in without me! But, because they are lovely people, they mentioned me, and because Janice is a lovely lady, she emailed me, and we all went back to the site today to see if we couldn't get the answers these buyers need to make a good decision for themselves.

Janice had some car trouble and Matthew Fetick of the Matt Fetick Real Estate Team, of whom Janice is a member, was at the site to help me out. Wow!
Matt is a real people person, was very gracious to me and my clients, and the best part was that he knew me from Active Rain! Matt spent a good two hours with us, explained all of the ins and outs and had a great wealth of knowledge about the community and was very helpful. Janice got there and when I went to shake her hand, she said, I recognize you from seeing your picture every morning on Active Rain! Wow! Both Matt and Janice sang my praises to the buyers and they sang my praises to the agents and I left there feeling like I was walking on a cloud.
So, this is really a thank you. Many thanks to Janice and Matt for their help and their willingness to work with me and my buyers. A big thank you to Active Rain for making it possible for me to get recongized by these two great agents and for building the community of wonderful people we have here.
Here's hoping that Janice, Matt and I can put this agreement together and get these lovely folks a new home!

One of the biggest challenges in life is moving.....Moving, relocating, changing place to live. There are many milestones in life that cause change in residence for people. New jobs, new relationships, (marriage, divorce), relocations, children born, outgrow space, children move out, we all know the reasons.
And one thing is constant, change. Change is good. Change is healthy. Adapting to change is experiential and worthwhile. Change helps develop people and keep us challenged.
Being a Realtor keeps me involved with people through the changes and that is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
It is especially fun and rewarding when it comes to "Happy Changes" like the step for people where the kids are grown and you don't need all that space and you get to do things only you want and like and the kids give their opinions but in this step.....It is all about making your life a life for you.
Recently I became familiar with the properties that are being built in West Chester near the Brandywine Airport and QVC.
It is called Arbours and it will be OPENING in MAY. Stay tuned. I will keep up posting about this.
