Come out an enjoy the parade with family and friends.

Now in its 33rd year, the Mars Drinks Old Fashioned Christmas Parade in West Chester. The 1-mile parade route travels through the heart of the historic business district.

More than 30,000 spectators closely line the route, much like an experience on "Main Street USA." Santa Claus will make an appearance in the parade and 19 marching bands from around the area. The tree lighting ceremony will be at the corner of High and Market streets at 7 p.m.

The Jingle Elf Run will commence at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Race day registration will be available at First Niagara Bank.

he entire parade route is free and open to the general public. West Chester is located in Chester County, just 30-40 minutes west of Philadelphia.

This is a wonderful Christmas Parade every year. Come out and enjoy an evening in West Chester PA starting off with Dinner with family & friends. If you want to exercise before the Parade take in the 2nd Annual Jingle Elf Run/Walk. Then enjoy the Parade. The parade route runs New Street to Gay Street, Gay Street to Matlack Street, Matlack Street to Market Street and back up Market Street past New Street (in the opposite direction of traffic).

American Idol Jason Castro will perform all along the parade route.

Santa is our honored guest of the evening and will appear last in the parade.

Gay and Market Streets will start to close around 5:30 PM.

Parking is available in the following parking garages:

Chestnut Street Garage - Located on the corner of Chestnut and Walnut Streets.

High Street Garage - Located on High Street between Market and Miner Streets.

Parking Lot 13 - Located on the corner of Matlack and Chestnut Streets. (Flat Lot)

Borough Parking Lot - Located on Chestnut Street between High and Church Streets.

Borough Parking Lot - Located on Chestnut Street between Church and Darlington Streets

West Chester University - Open lots on campus for general parking. Sharpless Street Garage is a pay to

park lot on campus.

Henderson High School - 400 Montgomery Ave

Street parking is also available on various streets throughout the borough. Just be sure to avoid parking

posted as permit parking only!

YES! Friday, December 3rd is also FIRST FRIDAY in downtown West Chester. Many of the retail shops

will stay open late for shopping.

Come out an enjoy more than 50 restaurants that are participating and about 110 arts & crafts vendors. Plus there is 3 stages for music.

All restaurant booths will be on Gay Street between Matlack Street and Darlington Street. Vendors will be on High Street from Market Street to Chestnut Street.

The Chester County Culinary Challenge. Four chefs will compete to win the title of the best chef in Chester County. They will cook an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Starts at 2:30 pm in front of the historic court house on High St.

This Friday is West Chester Borough's Old Fashioned Christmas Parade. Friday is actually the kick off to an entire weekend of fun things you can do with your family, with your friends, with your honey, with anyone at all or completely by yourself. There is something for everyone!

On Friday, 12/4, beginning at about 5:30, many merchants will be open for refreshments and/or entertainment. If you haven't visited West Chester lately, you are in for a treat. We have many high-end restaurants, boutiques, gift shops and more. I just love it here and I know you will too!

Local cutie pie meteorologist Adam Joseph and Karen Rogers will be masters of ceremony for the parade this year. The event will feature Radio Disney recording artist, JOEY PAGE from Orlando, Florida, The United States Submarine School Silver Dolphins Drill team from Connecticut, The Cultural Fraternidad Pachama, dancers from Maryland, over ten marching bands from the region, a “Salute to the Military”, countless exciting performances, dancers, special parade units, and of course the arrival of Santa Claus.

Large crowds are expected so make your plans early and come into town and have a good time. Don't forget to check the website for fun stuff to do all weekend.
