Mars Old-Fashioned ChristmasStarting tomorrow, December 1, West Chester Borough will be putting on the Ritz... or should I say, putting on the Old-Fashioned Christmas that they have become famous for!

On Thursday, December 1, at 7:30 PM, there's an Old-Fashioned Christmas Concert performed by the West Chester Area School District's Select Strings at the Church of the Holy Trinity, located at 212 S. High Street.

Also on the 1st, at 8:00 PM there's Trial by Jury and Carol Singing at the Chester County Justice Center, Courtroom 1, located at 201 W. Market Street. This is a gorgeous building and well worth the visit. Additional shows are Friday, 5:30 and 6:30 and on Saturday 2:00 and 8:00. Tickets available at the door for all shows.

On the evening of 12/2, The tree lighting occurs at 7:00. There's a Jingle Elf Run at 6:30 (registration at First Niagara Bank, 36 E. Market Street). The Christmas parade begins at 7:15. There are more than 40 activities that include guided walking tours, performances by a variety of musicians and so much more. The parade, one of my favorite things is truly a lot of fun with fire trucks, marching bands, local politicians and, of course, Santa Claus!

Big weekend, as usual in West Chester PA. Here are two of the West Chester Happenings:

Tonight is The Gallery Walk!

Come into town and see wonderful art at the semi-annual Gallery Walk. This event is presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater West Chester. There will be "one night only" art shows, the shops and restaurants are open and it's a great opportunity to see all that West Chester has to offer. To see who is participating, click here. Exciting news to me is that students from the West Chester Area School District, all levels, will be displaying their artwork in this fun family event! Best of all, it's FREE! Food and beverages provided by the Chamber.

The 32nd CHESTER COUNTY RESTAURANT FESTIVAL

TODAY, 9/18/11 FROM NOON UNTIL 5:30.

Come to DOWNTOWN WEST CHESTER today and enjoy a taste of some of the best food our area has to offer. The FESTIVAL is on Gay Street, between Matlack and Darlington. In addition to the food, there will be music from 7 different bands throughout the day, The Beer and Wine Garden is open at Gay and Church.

My favorite Restaurant, Limoncello Ristorante, will be participating on Gay Street with what they describe on their Facebook page as an array of Italian specialties including Arancini, Calamari Siciliani and Sacchetti Pasta. Or stop by the restaurant - happy hour from 11 to 10 at the bar or the outside patio.

Other favorites such as Teca will usually be participating. This is a not to be missed event!

There will be a Chester County Culinary Cook-off, beginning at 2:30 on the steps of the courthouse where chefs will compete for the Best Chef in Chester County Title!

This is a fun event for the whole family but please leave your beloved dogs at home. It's too crowded for one thing.

Enjoy! It's a gorgeous day in Chester County!

Welcome to West Chester

Thankful Thursday, 6/2/11 Swinging Summer Thursday in West Chester!

Susan Mangigian, Chester County Homes Delaware and Chester County Offices!: Real Estate Sales Person in West Chester, PA

Tonight is the first Swingin' Summer Thursday of the season in West Chester! The weather today is nothing short of spectacular so being outside tonight will be a wonderful time! Tonight's music will be Blue's and I will be tapping my foot to the music! I'm thankful to Suburban West Realtor's Association and Home Builders Association for sponsoring tonight's happy hour

Anyone who has been within whining distance of me this week knows that my central air conditioning system waved goodbye to me on Monday night. It's been in the 90's all week and I have been nothing short of miserable. Today was literally a breath of fresh air. The windows are open and life is good.

I had the humbling experience of interviewing 3 different companies to buy a new HVAC system. I now know the feeling sellers experience when they call to say that the choice was hard, but they picked someone else (fortunately this doesn't happen very often!). It's not an enviable position but I trust I picked the best company for the job. Picking from 3 qualified people is a very hard thing to do. The unit won't be installed for 10 days so I am praying the cooler temperatures last.

Today, I am thankful for the the moderate temperatures, the breezes and life in general.

Carpe Diem!
