Buyer Beware! - Dec 27 06:20 PM
Those ominous words, but what do they mean? Here in Alabama, buyer beware means just that.... buyer beware.
Alabama is one of a handful of states that still operates under "caveat emptor" which means buyer beware
An article was posted today on al.com by Sean Riley, Home Buyers In State Have Little Protection, that addresses this policy here in Alabama.
The article noted Jeff Newman, from the Mobile Area Association of Realtors, as saying that "...in his experience, ...

Today on Al.com I read an article, Birmingham police: It's illegal to celebrate with gunfire by Carol Robinson, and I thought I would share some of the highlights with ...

The Secret is Out About Alabama, Or Should I Say In? - Mar 15 07:50 PM
Alabama has been making a move over the past few years and this year beat 35 other statres!!!
What did they beat them in? The beat them in being the place to be and emerging to become yet another destination state in the South.
How do we know? According to an article, Alabama Becoming A Destination State in South by Erin Stock of the Birmingham News, it is based on net migration. (Isn't that a fancy word?)
Net migration ...

Selling Your Home in Hoover Alabama - Get Rid of the Clutter - Jun 30 08:13 PM
When I was between the ages of 18 and 38 I moved almost every year.  The one thing I learned is that you had to get rid of stuff.  I had it down to my clothes, furniture, 3 boxes and 3 50 gallon drums.  This included all my kitchen stuff and my Christmas decorations.  But, now that I have lived in my current house for 12 years, it is quite a different story.
 When it's time ...

I often recommend GreatSchools.netas ...

FINALLY!!! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
One of the big indicators we look for in a market recovery, and even here in the Birmingham AL Real Estate market, is the movement of new homes.
Typically, if we see the numbers of new homes constantly rising, we know the market is potentially slowing, and if we start to see a dip in the number of new homes on the market, it shows us that ...

Birmingham Area Non Profits - Jan 05 02:09 PM
I have begun having some contact with several of the Birmingham Area Non-profits. Birmingham and its surrounding areas have a tremendous amount of them. I know this because I have seen so many of you in action, have spoken to a number of founders and volunteers, and because I began my "working life" at an inner-city ...
