I found Hernando beach Florida 15 years ago and was entralled, I had stumbled upon paradise.  After living in cold, snowy Northern Indiana this waterfront community was heaven on earth.

In May, total number homes sold slightly decreased over April while average and median sales both declined.  As a silver lining, the average days on market decreased by almost 30%, likely as an indication that decreased priced are producing a shorter time from listing to finalized sale.

Beginning Tuesday, February 19, 2008, and continuing through March 26th, the CSX Railroad will be performing major maintenance on their line that runs through Hernando County.  This work will involve replacement of ties, replacement of the timber at the grade crossings, raising the rails and repaving the crossings.  This maintenance work will impact nearly all the grade crossings in the County and will result in extended closure of the portions of the roads where they cross ...

Hernando County and Brooksville signed a fire and rescue mutual aid agreement that should improve service to residents and increase efficiency. The county commissioners approved a plan that essentially tears down jurisdictional boundaries and allows the closest crews to respond to the scene while in the past, requests for assistance were done on a case-by-case basis from the scene.
