Oahu, Hawaii Ka'au Crater: Picture Perfect Scenery - Sep 03 01:28 PM

www.localism.com featured article
What better place in the world to go hiking and grab some scenic pictures but Hawaii! Breathtaking views of lush green foilage from high atop ridges, far above valleys and down to the deep blue ocean. It's an all in one picture perfect story to tell.
My friend Karen's husband Keith goes hiking every Saturday all over Oahu. He takes pictures and they are so beautiful they allowed me to use a bunch to do this post.  Hey, these ...

www.localism.com featured post
Learning about the history and culture of the area you are planning on relocating to is surely a must!
Waimea Bay is located on the North Shore on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. During the winter months the waves can get as high as thirty feet where some surfers dare to brave riding the wild surf. During the summer months the water is calm and great for swimming and snorkeling.
Follow the permanent river from the ocean of Waimea ...

Recycling on Oahu, Hawaii with Worms?! - Jul 25 12:36 AM

www.localism.com featured
While watching the news last night I sat with amazement listening to this story. According to The Waikiki Worm Company,  the island of Oahu's wastestream is about 34% and they decided they were going to do something about it! This company was established to recycle .....ORGANIC WASTE with.....worms.
The processing of organic waste is called VERICOMPOSTIN. What the worms do is transform garbage into a nutrient-rich, no odor, no pathogen organic soil that is used to improve the health of all types ...

MAKING the Transaction WORK! (The Loyal Client Update) - Jul 03 09:34 PM
How many of you find a way to make the transaction work? Do you go above and beyond "the call of duty"? How often do I ask myself if I'm doing the right thing when I give a credit or buy something for the client to make a transaction work? NONE! NEVER! NADA! ZILCH! ZERO! That's right...NONE! I don't second guess my decisions when it is to benefit the client and the transaction to make it work.
Three days ago I wrote about my ...

MEET Mr. "W": The Faithful and Loyal Client - Jul 23 12:59 AM
It's a cool sunny typical Hawaiian day and I stroll down to the building in my complex that Mr. "W" (The Faithful and Loyal Client) is currently in contract for. He scheduled his final walk through for this Sunday morning at 10am after he was finished with church and he did mention that he also wanted to take more measurements because we are getting ready to close.
I showed Mr. "W" the last couple of blogs I had written regarding his transaction and told him how everyone thought ...

Torrential Rains, Thunder, Lightning, Floods......... and Snow? Only in Hawaii! - Nov 06 08:41 PM

www.localism.com featured article
Whoa!  Torrential rains, flooding, high surf, lightning and booming thunder! That's the way it was Saturday night on Oahu. Sleeping soundly until BOOM!  And blinding light in our bedroom that startled us awake. The dog's head was under the bed. Okay. She's cool. And my heart is beating because my husband JUMPED at the BOOM!
It was still raining hard on Sunday and because of the storm we didn't get to cut down the junk ...

 www.localism.com featured post
By: Celeste "Sally" Cheeseman, Century 21 Liberty Homes, Mililani, HI  96789
There seems to be a story for every piece of land in Hawaii so let's start with Kaena Point (picture left taken from Sharks Cove) on the island of Oahu. Travel to Kaena Point from the North Shore and past Mokuleia; but alas! There is no thorough fare from this point to the other side except for a small pathway which can only be crossed ...

Is the Hawaii Real Estate Housing Market Still Shifting? - Jun 28 02:01 PM

My belief is that ALL housing markets differ and the circumstances are going to depend on the housing markets in each of the states &  local cities; and right down to each neighborhood which will show a significant difference in number of sales and of course the sales prices too.
I also believe that it is up to everyone in the Real Estate Industry to keep the market moving. With our professional attitudes shining through in ...

Hawaii Real Estate Cannot Be Measured By Mainland USA Real Estate - Aug 28 12:11 PM
By: David Kucic RA (GRI, ABR, AHWD, e-PRO)First Sergeant, USA (Retired)Tropic Lightning Real Estate
Hawaii is different.  While we have our share of concerns here, it does not compare to what is going on in the mainland USA.
One thing we have going for us here is the constant turnover of people.  A big contributor to that turnover is the United States Armed Forces.  There are several major military bases such as Schofield Barracks, Fort Shafter, Hickam Air Force Base, Pearl Harbor, Marine ...

Honolulu Predicted to be The Hottest Real Estate Market in 2008 - Mar 10 02:00 AM

http://www.housingpredictor.com/ chose Honolulu as their pick for the hottest housing market in the country.  All I can say is from their lips to God's ears.
While other parts of the country have suffered, Oahu (Honolulu County) has been a pretty stable market.  Even though the resale volume is down from the hot market in 2004 & 2005, prices have remained stable.
Why do I think things have been generally better in Hawaii?
People in Hawaii pay ...

Ewa Gentry- Market and Area Report - Honolulu County Hawaii - Jun 07 12:09 PM

The Ewa (pronounced with a short e and va) area on the island of Oahu was a highly populated in the late 1800's and early 1900's because of the sugar cane industry.
The 'Ewa Mill" was the main center for employment and they also set up residential villages but has long since closed.

Buyer & Seller Guidelines: Code of Ethics or Fantasy? - May 24 12:59 PM
Over a year ago I wrote the basic Real Estate Code of Ethics for the Buyer and Seller. I figured that we Real Estate Professionals abide by our   Code of Ethics (REALTORS'® Pledge of Performance and Service) and if there were some sort of guidelines for the Buyer or Seller (on top of the Buyer's Representation Agreement or Listing Agreement) I would dream that they would follow them. Is it just fantasy?
The following points I wrote before in the old post ...

ALOHA! Welcome to Our World..... A PARADISE awaits you!
Seems like everyone wants to visit Honolulu, Hawaii at one point in their life. Why? Ahhhhh...the tropical breezes in balmy weather looking up at sunny blue skies in a land of paradise. Typically, the imagery in a ones mind who has not ever stepped foot on our fine grains of sand splattered on beaches lining the edges of our islands is one of a continuous 'ancient era'.

Chip and Cookie in Kailua-Hawaii: A "Celebrity" of Spring Inspiration and Positive Views - Mar 29 01:29 PM
On a sunny Spring day my husband took a drive to a home/office in Kailua to fix a pc and he described the owner to me as a kind older gentleman. When the work day was over my husband brought home a 'sampler bag' of five different types of cookies that the kind gentleman had given to him from his store. I have had to cut my sugar intake although I decided to 'treat' myself and to let the little bite size buggers melt in my mouth....one ...

Supporting Hawaii Businesses: And Getting Out of a Funk! - Nov 07 06:46 PM
After Torrential Rains, Thunder, Lightning, Floods......... and Snow? Only in Hawaii! the weather started clearing up and I took a picture this morning of my last two orchid blooms that fared the weathered storm. Two died, the rest already bloomed.
I looked at the blooms and thought, "How simple but beautiful".  No matter how positive my spirit is I get caught up in "junk" just like anyone else and need to get out and do something to ...

Walk the Talk In Your LOCAL Real Estate Market - Apr 17 12:51 PM
Every Monday morning we (sales agents) meet to discuss our current sales, new listings, office policies, any newsy stuff for the office, the market and marketing at Century 21 Liberty Homes office in Mililani, Hawaii. One thing that keeps coming up is pricing. Though our Hawaii Real Estate Market is pretty stable in sales prices, the number of sales went down over the last two years. Understandable. Project Search Engine Optimization (continued) - Aug 21 12:08 AM
I am proceeding with search engine optimization of my website, with the website now changed to http://www.WaikikiBob.com to avoid any fallout from the NAR copyright regarding the word "Realtor."
