The Mississippi River and our attention to it seems to have put us at the top of the list of 19,217 cities under 100,000 population.

As most people know Fowler Realty is on the Blue Grass Parade route. We were all lined up to see the 2008 Blue Grass parade when about two hours before the rain came down hard. So the parade was canceled. This was a dissapointment to all of us out in Blue Grass Area since it only happens once a year. All the clowns, cars, floats, and horses had to be put away until 2009.

Iowa gets hit again...this time it's snow and ICE! - Feb 26 06:38 PM
Round One of Phase Twelve (snow storms) started Saturday morning with spitting rain, turning to freezing rain, turning to sleet, turning to ice pellets by mid afternoon, turning to thunder snow (that's when it's thundering and lightning and snowing all at the same time) Saturday night. With the swing of his wrist Iowa's Governor, Chet Culver, signed into law a $60 million package for pre-school children's education! The fundingfor this voluntary program will allow over 90% of Iowa's 4 year olds to be able to participate in pre-school courses. The law will fund $15 million per year for the next four years to help children at a very important developmental stage of their lives.
