North Idaho nearly Suffered "Death by Lack of Coffee" Experience!

I heard they were closing a whole lot of Starbucks and I have to say it did cause a bit of a panic. What if they close the ones we currently run to for our daily fix, jolt, pick-me-up, etc. How will we survive!
If I were a normal person, My panic should have been that I actually own stock in the company! But alas, the fear of caffeine loss overshadowed Stock Loss!!!!
It now appears our fears were unwarranted. I just received a copy of the Starbucks Coffee House closures list. (There are way too many closures on this list). None, absolutely NONE of the Starbucks in North Idaho are closing! There has to be a zillion of them... but none are closing. We will still be able to get our daily fix, jolt, pick-me-up, etc. no matter where we are in town.
Yea! Coeur d' Alene, Hayden Lake, Post Falls, Rathdrum and ALL of Kootenai County Idaho, we will all continue to receive our daily jolt!
Here is the website with the U.S. Closures listed: http://www.starbucks.com/aboutus/USStoreClosureInfo.pdf
Wow! I am feeling much better now. I'm doing the Coffee Dance!

Selecting a Boise Home Builder
- Does the builder support the industry and local economy?
Why is this important? In the words of Theodore Roosevelt "Every man owes part of his time and money to the business or industry to which he is engaged. No man has a moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere." The Southwest Building Constractors Association is continuously working on behalf of builders and all of us that live her to keep affordable housing and the American Dream available for everyone. - Start early. The more you prepare before you begin will help create a better home with fewer complications along the way. The process is more complex than most realize but professional guidance from the beginning will help to avoid mistakes in site selection, home design and written specifications.
- Reputation. Look for an established builder with an extensive client list and referrals. You are about to purchase the largest investment that you likely ever make. This is not to be taken lightly and requires your due diligence.
- Know the code. Choose a builder who is familiar with the area where you want your home to be built. Local knowledge is important because residential construction is very regional in nature. An out-of-the-area builder might not be prepared to handle variations in local building codes, subcontracting practices, inclement weather patterns or other factors.
- Relationship of trust. Building a home is a highly personal and emotional experience. That's why you'll want choose a builder with whom you'll feel comfortable. Most every home constructed has a surprise. Having a professional that you trust to guide you is very important.
- Warranty. The builder should be willing and able to offer you a comprehensive written warranty on your new home.
- Beyond these factors, the most important consideration is the quality of the builder's homes. Cost is not a direct measure of quality. Rather, good quality is the merging of good design with appropriate products and materials that are installed with superior workmanship. The most expensive window might not look or perform any better than a substantially less expensive window. But improper installation of that window will diminish its quality, regardless of its cost. Generally, costly finishes and fixtures won't offset shoddy application or installation.
- Some home buyers locate a builder through a real estate agent. Certainly, no group of people has better knowledge of the local real estate market than the real estate agents who work in that market on a daily basis. Whether an individual real estate agent is well-versed in home construction is another matter. Some agents are very savvy about builders and home construction while others aren't at all knowledgeable about local builders or the new home design and building process.
- Many real estate agents shy away from marketing and selling brand-new homes while others prosper in this specialty. If you decide to ask a real estate agent to help you select a builder, be sure to consult an agent who understands the realities of new home construction.
- Ask lots of questions, listen to your gut and and don't second guess yourself.

Silver Mountain Real Estate
This is a great time to buy a condo at Silver Mountain. The indoor water park is now up and running and condo rentals have doubled over the same period as last year. This should prove to be a great summer season and with the water park open 365 days per year it should make for a great fall and winter season coming up.

BEWARE OF POOR MAN'S WINDOW WASHING SERVICE
THERE IS A REASON HE NAMED HIS BUSINESS THIS NAME!
DO NOT USE POOR MAN'S WINDOW WASHING SERVICE IN BOISE!!
I had this company do some jobs for me and they did not even know how to use the equipment. Don't know where he went to window washing school but he slopped his tools around like and old dog shaking his back. Spraying my customer's, SPRAYING LADIES SKIRTS UP NOT TO MENTION: scratching my windows up. i just learned today that he came on to my 16 year old daughter as well!
My window's looked worse than they did before I had them cleaned.
I say THEY ARE THE WORST IN BOISE AND THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN.
If you want clean, undamaged window's DON'T USE THEM!!

The Place To Be On Saturday Morning In Kuna Idaho: The Farmers Market
The market was full and teaming with locals this morning. And as I found out today, I didn’t get there early enough!!
I wandered in about 11:00 (Opens 9–12) and they had sold out on the most popular items. Tree ripened apricots were gone and so were the first green bean crop. I should know better, with the increase in popularity of this great local market, I need to get moving faster in the morning.
There was still plenty of fresh produce left, baked goods (bless those ladies that turn on the stove in the summer), eggs, lamb, beef, pork and lots of fun crafts. Plus Vogel’s Farms are always cooking up something scrumptious and different.
Today the market featured a group of Irish dancers. Local talent always adds some ambiance to the event.
The market gets better and better every year and people are starting to discover the great produce and fun. Every week promises something different to try and enjoy.
It’s a great place to run into some neighbors and have a cup of joe at the local coffee shop, relax and enjoy the day.
Next week there will be more green beans and perhaps the first crop of Peaches! Better go early.
Kuna’s Farmers Market is found under the big flag in the Sandstone Plaza off of 4th St. Or if you take Main into downtown, just locate the flag and follow the road to the flag.
Twin Falls Airshow
Laying on my grandmas lawn and watching the jets fly over. My grandma lived right off the end of an Air Force Base runway, and on some days during the Vietnam War, fighter jets would fly over every couple of minutes. My friends and I would spend hours simply laying there and watching the jets. Like boys, we would talk about how cool it would be to fly one of them and how we were all going to be jet pilots some day. I think that our favorite part of the whole thing was when the pilots would kick in the afterburners right over us. We would wait for that. That sound, to a young boy, is so incredible, especially when coupled with the speed of the jet. Sometimes we would yell "Go" to the pilots as they flew by.
My family and I like to attend airshows whenever we can. We especially like to see the military demonstration teams when they are in our area. We argue over who is better, the USAF Thunderbirds or the Navy Blue Angels.
On July 26th and 27th, the Navy Blue Angels will be flying at the airshow in Twin Falls. For anyone within a few hours drive, this airshow will be spectacular. The organizers have put together a huge list of performers that will excite and amaze the audience. The show will be held at the Twin Falls airport and tickets are $15 per person. Gates open at 9 with flying starting at 11:30 both days.
Here is a link to the airshow website: http://www.ironpilotwb.com/adameday/index.php
This one will be a good one and if you have never seen the Blue Angels, you are in for a treat.
