Earlier this week I surpassed 100,000 points on Active Rain. In the time it has taken me to accumulate this many points it became obvious just how addictive Active Rain points are. I thank David Matney for introducing me to Active Rain and this new addiction of mine.
Now that I have so many points, what can I do with them? Aside from placing me prominently on Active Rain's Nebraska home page, what do these points do? I can't spend them. I can't trade them in for airline miles. I can't eat them... What would a point taste like if you could eat it though? What does a point even look like?
I guess these points have put me in touch with a lot of people. And these people have supported my point addiction by reading my blogs and emailing me questions. It makes for a strange ActiveRain co-dependent relationship. I'm hooked on points so I blog. My readers are hooked on my blogs so I write more blogs to satisfy the readers which results in me getting more points.
I'll have another serving of points. Please pass the salt.

Time for our monthly update of the Omaha real estate market. From looking at the data below in September there were only slightly fewer closed sales than in August (Omaha Real Estate Market - August, 2008).
|
|
There is an 8.6 month supply of homes for sale. This is a slight drop from last month as a result of many sellers taking their homes off of the market. As we move closer to the winter the number of homes for sale will continue to decrease but soon the number of sales will as well. The net result will be longer market times.
* These numbers encompass all residential listings in the Omaha Area Board of Realtors Great Plains Multiple Listing Service.

Congratulations to John Lorkovic, Connie Watts, Bobbie Schottle, Marvene Vancil, Kathryn Rouch who each won a $20 gift certificate to Chili's for submitting the closest guesses on the sale prices of listings of mine that sold in April.
Every month I give away gift certificates to agents that send me feedback after showing one of my listings and closest guess the sale prices of the listings. Sure it's costly - this month I'm giving away $100 of gift certificates - but it sure is a great way to gather feedback for my clients.

Tracie assisted with the sale of a property I was representing in the Roxbury subdivision at 11317 X Street by bringing the buyer.
Having a good agent on the other side of a sale makes closing a deal much easier and it makes my career much more enjoyable.
Tracy made this a smooth transaction and I hope we can do business again in the future.

The sale of my listing at 4617 Crestview Dr. in the Lakewood Villages subdivision of Omaha closed and the buyer was represented by Kim.
Working with a good agent makes my job much easier. Kim did a great job and made the sale very smooth.
Kim was a pleasure to work with.
