Beachaven Winery a part of Clarksville.
Opened in 1986, Beachaven Vineyards and Winery has become a part of the Clarksville Community. It is a great place to visit or spend a summer evening with "Jazz on the Lawn". I hope you enjoy this video of my recent visit to Beachaven Winery. I believe the winery is a testimony of co-founder Judge William O. Beach's dream of a winery in Clarksville. It is a hidden treasure of the Clarksville community.

Mortgage Mess
The Mortgage Mess we are in is the worst market I have been in. However, things do change. The Memphis Tn market may not be as bad as other parts of the country. Shelby County and surrounding areas have challenges which include helping first time homebuyers get in for little or no money. That is where FHA loans work well for borrowers, and sellers. The days of 100% conventional loans are gone. Rent is cheaper here than rents in other areas. Buyers can own their own home somestimes cheaper than monthly rent. First Tennessee Home Loans is one of the top banks in Tennessee and strives to meet the financial needs of their cumtomers.

Clarksville and Montgomery County Parents can check their children's work online
Another reason I love the great city of Clarksville. Anyone who states that public schools are not challenging our students, or are not engaged should look at the Clarksville and Montgomery County Tennessee School system as an example of how it should be ran.
I would put our schools up against any district - as a parent I believe that much in this system! Here is yet another example why - "PowerSchool provides grade data for all students" Yet another opportunity for Clarksville and Montgomery County Parents to get INVOLVED with their child's education.
Our daughter goes to middle school this year (6th grade) and while there was no opportunity to see ‘real time' grades and attendance for us, we did have constant email communications with her teacher, quarterly meetings and weekly notes. This takes it to a whole new level!
So, parents - you asked to be more informed - here is our opportunity. We have a better opportunity to engage in our Children's future! I love the city!

We ARE "Unlimited" in Lexington TN
I am particularly blessed to work for a successful RE/MAX franchise in Lexington, TN... Attentive broker, terrific support staff, comfortable office. We a just a bit over a year old and we have captured a majority of the market share in our small town in that short time.
This past week we added 2 new agents, Monica Downs and Nick Mays. Both have been working agents in Lexington for the past couple of years but I had not work with either to any extent. What delight it has been getting to know them! I have found them to be eager to learn and adapt. They have jumped on board and gotten right to business bringing in several listings. This is exciting for them and our company as well. It's great for us all!
I want to thank them for joining us and welcome them to our RE/MAX Unlimited family. I wish them continued success. If you're looking for a property in Lexington, Parsons, Henderson or Decatur Counties, give our office a call! 731 249 5376... you will find an experienced Realtor to help you no matter who's 'opportunity' day it is!
All the Best!

100th Annual Lone Oak Picnic.
This Saturday July 26th the Lone Oak Picnic turns 100. The picnic will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the Central Civitan Club building in Cunningham, Tennessee. The cost to attend is FREE and food can be purchased.
The Lone Oak Picnic is a tradition start of the election season. So, get ready for a little hand shaking. People have a chance to meet many local politicians and listen to them state their case for why they are best candidate for the job. The politicians are expected to take the stage around noon, with Senator Rosalind Kurita presenting a proclamation from the governor.
What is a picnic without food? The Lone Oak Picnic will have plenty of tradition picnic staples: Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Bar-B-Que Chicken, Pulled Pork, Ice Cream, etc. Proceeds for the food sales will go to help the local community. The family fun does not stop with the food. There will also be gospel music, an antique car show and puppet shows.
Larry Pitts, president of the Central Civitan Club tells, "The reason it has had success is everyone likes the family atmosphere. People who have moved off enjoy coming back and meeting with old friends." *
The highlight of the event is a beauty pageant. Contestants of all ages pay a $25 enter fee (proceeds also going toward the local community) to vie for the title in his/her age group. To find out more about the pageant or other events contact Nita Groves at 387-0012.

A Rebuilding Season for David's Team - The Miami Dolphins
By David Israel, Business Manager
(Please Note: Andy Hodes and the Scenic City Team does not formally endorse any specific football team, despite David's wishes. This article reflects the opinion of the writer and not necessarily that of the other members of the Scenic City Team.)
Okay, I have taken enough grief about my Miami Dolphins trading away Jason Taylor to the Washington Redskins this
past week. As a die hard Dolphin fan, I wish him well and look to the future for my team, which starts training camp this weekend. Living in Chattanooga for almost four years, I have actually found a ton of Fin Fans living in the area. So, I finally asked a fellow Dolphin Fan why they were a fan growing up in Chattanooga and the answer I got really made sense.
It seems that before the Tennessee Titans moved from Houston several years ago, the local television coverage for the NFC was the Atlanta Falcons, made perfect sense to me, but the closest AFC team was the Dolphins and they were on TV every week; once the Titans came to town, the Dolphins were knocked off the air. It seems that there was lots of upset Fin Fans when this happened, and they've remained loyal to the Dolphins ever since.
So, as a die hard fan, I am looking forward to a "re-building" season for my team who finished 1-15 last year, the worst record in the NFL, and the worst record in franchise history. My expectations for this year are not high at all, this way I won't be disappointed when my team does not win too many games. However, there is excitement in the air over a new team with a new coach, probably one of the best minds in football at the helm. Bill Parcells, "The Big Tuna" has certainly brought in a new whole new coaching staff and a new philosophy. With Jason Taylor being traded this past week, "my" team is very young and inexperienced, but there is excitement over new players getting an opportunity to play along with young veterans getting the opportunity to be leaders brings a smile to my face.
Us Dolphin fans were very spoiled in the 90's with many playoff appearances and a winning record, unfortunately the 00's have not been good to our team. We haven't made the playoffs in six years and have not had a winning record in a long time. Last year, besides having a terrible record, everything went wrong, we were decimated with injuries and just didn't have experience players on offense and our defense seemed to have gotten old very quickly. So, what is in store for us this year? Well, in my opinion the Dolphins got very "big" this off-season and picked up some great special teams players. Maybe this year we will not give the opposing team good starting field position.
I never like to be negative about my team; I am always the optimist and will continue to be as my team rebuilds this year. I look forward to watching them on my DirecTV and hope that in a couple years we are back in the playoff hunt. I have always been a huge fan and I will continue to proudly cheer for my team.
