Since 77% of all Christmas shoppers still have not done their shopping yet (according to the latest stats) what better place for the men out there then to head to Wickford RI.

Everything is within walking distance shopwise and you do not have the bump to bump malls and horrendous parking lots to deal with here. With the temperatures in the 50 degree range I am seeing many men out there in bermuda shorts shopping right now! Isn't it great to be warm blooded in Rhode Island this time of year?!

It is the Males' Shopping Night , Wednesday, December 21st in Wickford Village RI. Great mini massages (okay, after the shopping boyz!), live bluegrass music performed by “Held without Bail” and if you head into the local all time favorite storeWilson’s of Wickford you will be able to grab a microbrew at a beer tasting there.

What a way for all the men to enjoy themselves as they shop ’til they drop! In a good way no less. Support your local waterfront Wickford Village businesses, have a bite to eat at the local eateries, find some jewelry, kitchen ware, bath items, books, gift cards and special something for the great people you enjoy all year.

I will send my boys on their way to Wickford Village shopping tonight along with a wish list! It is all about North Kingstown RI Neighborhoods.  In the past year and a half I have written about many of the North Kingstown neighborhoods that are front and center on the minds of sellers and buyers who reach out to me to sell their home or buy in a subdivision.  By no means have I been able to write about all the great areas of North Kingstown that are just waiting to be explored by the consumer…but I will be working on this project throughout the new year and beyond.

A Restaurant Experience in Buying a Home. This is the text message I received the other evening from my out of state buyer having a much deserved dinner out with her husband (sans children). 'We are out at a restaurant, just the 2 of us, discussing what are we waiting for!' She is a busy woman who is half way down the coast and flies all over the world for her business. Getting my client pinned down to see a house I believe may be a great summer and vacation home for her family is just difficult to plan.

We all do plan too much don't we? The spur of the moment adventures, commitments and all goes through a lot of analysis in our lives because it is about fitting everything in.

But the moment of the text to me in the middle of their much deserved dinner gave me a chuckle. It is the proverbial thought when you want to buy a waterfront RI home for sale but time or commitment does not permit you to do it. So what is important in this chain of events? It appears to be that inaction brings no offer, purchase or maybe loss of a desired home while action brings a much more decided action. Perhaps it is that decision to be able to make the time in a busy schedule to not pass an interesting home for sale and prospect by!

Well I am still unsure of the final outcome of the dinner conversation but I do think that the text was a good sign. Anyway I do have a reserved day in January for my busy client to fly into RI again. The Rhode Island real estate scene is ready and waiting. One never knows when a good restaurant experience helps with buying a home...or does not...a restaurant experience in buying a home.

Waterfront Wickford RI - By the Wickford Harbor- Brr! It may be a cold December day and the only way you would know that is that Wickford Harbor has no boats, sailing ships or sails wafting in the noon time wind within Wickford Village. Wickford Harbor looks totally deserted which is a unusual sight. Not that one does not enjoy the well populated boating harbor in the summer time...it is just nice to see the waterfront of this historic Wickford RI town empty once and awhile.

Locals depend upon the tourism business in Wickford Village for its survival and vibrancy. And in the good spirit of the holidays, Wickford RI yearns to greet visitors with its antique homes, stunning waterfront Wickford scenes and local boutique shops that are sure to warm ones hearts (remember cold hands). Oh well, the opening of the purse strings helps too for the local Wickford merchants.

Isn't it an amazing view to be able to live around or vacation at. Visitors who come to Rhode Island always want the coastline near them and this town is no exception. You will love it!

What is Your Inner Village? I think in most cases it does take an outer village to build a community and I have a client who is just a one man band. I have to share his endeavors as I stopped over his home the other day to visit. He lives in South Kingstown and is a hard working commercial fisherman and that is his primary business. What this homeowner has done to his South Kingstown real estate in the three years the family has lived here is amazing. He has built the village!

With nearly 19 acres, he has moved stone walls, put fences up on a couple of acres and now has built a barn for the horse all the while doing another job too. That is him sitting on the top of the barn he is building finishing the cupola. I was the real estate agent that negotiated this property for this family and I always use this homeowner as a great model of a business owner. There is no can not in his vocabulary.

As a North Kingstown real estate agent, I know there should be no hurdle in RI real estate I can not handle. Especially after watching this man juggle his dangerous fishing business profession and follow his small farm passion. Passion in any life creates good things for all.
