About East Providence's Riverside

I've never posted an unsolicited recommendation on my blog. This is will be my first and I do it for a company I highly recommend.

I had a new furnace installed two years ago and after shopping a few different companies I ended up going with Vicmir Heating & Air Conditioning out of East Providence RI.

This was a local (to me) company that is family owned and operated. Vic didn't offer up the cheapest quote or the highest but after a few "midnight emergencies" I am very happy I chose Vicmir.

The installation was done professionally and without a mess. The workmanship or fit and finish of the product and some of the duct work they did were state of the art. A few years previous to the new furnace I had gone with a cheaper quote on getting my central ac installed and it just never seemed to cool our house in a manner that my family was comfortable with. One of Vic's sons Identified a few things at first glance that he felt could also improve the efficiency of our ac unit. One real simple thing he noticed that some duct work was not connected to baseboards correctly. He also advised on slight placement changes of where some of the ducts intersected. His adjustments had us thrilled when the summer came around and our house was chilled.

As for the actual furnace that he installed, happy there as well. Vicmir also was able to put in an extra electric outlet for me by the furnace and this has come in handy over the past several years.

As far as service in an emergency or when something isn't working correctly. Here is where you really can appreciate good service.

I had two situations where my family lost heat in the middle of winter. Both happened late in the evening and both turned out to not be related to the furnace or its installation.

The first occurrence was when the gas coming into my home and going to the unit was not staying at the required pressure. One of Vic's sons showed up in the middle of the night, discovered the problem (all I knew was we had no heat) and fixed it right there.

The second time I had no heat was this past December when Vic discovered a bird had gotten itself into the duct work and then into the gears of the furnace where it eventually caused the system to shut down. This time too was late in the evening but Vic showed up quickly and restored our heat that night. I documented this event in my "Chimney's are for Santa" blog.

From installation and when a time of need arouse, I've been thrilled with the service this company has provided. Before putting this post together I checked the Better Business Bureau's website on VicMir and he's listed with a grade of A+. It doesn't get better than that.
