Hopkinton's growth, development, little Hopkinton, RI is growing in leaps and bounds, can it be stopped or is it a postive step for the community in need of tax relief from local business?
Over the past year an Ad Hoc Committee has been looking at the Town's Zoning Ordinance and the Exit 1 and Exit 2 of Route 95. A Statewide Planning Challenge Grant was received in August of 2006 specifically to look at development at Exit 1 of Route 95. Pare Corporation from Lincoln, Rhode Island was hired to provide consulting services to the Town.
The Ad Hoc Committee and the Consultant decided to look at Exit 1 as a Development District with new zones, and new Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations to address the proposed changes for the Exit. The Quick Links below show the District Map, Guidelines, Ordinances and Regulations proposed for the area.
Public Workshops to address these proposals will occur in the fall. The public is encouraged to attend, and comments can be emailed to the Town at Planner@hopkintonri.org

To my liking......the beautiful city of Hopkinton located in Washington County has been growing nicely in the real estate market. It is a great community to live in full of nature preserves and parks. There are many homes and condominiums there to invest in. I manage one property here and find that not only is it a great place to live but also is one of the most popular destinations for tourism in Rhode Island. I t is full of campgrounds, fresh water fishing, and parks. Truly a great place to check out.
