Approaching the waterfront neighborhood of Bissel Cove outside of Wickford RI within the town of North Kingstown there is such peacefulness in the air. I suppose it is because of the season which only brings the locals and residents to come by to their homes here. The ducks in Bissel Cove are gaggling away, the water is transparent and calm, the trees are all leafless now and it is a wonderful sight.
From the cottages of the 1940′s to the rebuilt homes this Waldron Avenue road off of Boston Neck Road all have the Wickford Village feel to it. The 'for residents only' beach at the end of Worsley Avenue is white sand and pebbly with many a boat turned over for the season along the shoreline. It is all about Bissel Cove in North Kingstown RI that sets the stage for the clear waters as boaters set sail on a December day.

As the hurricane winds of Igor blow strongly from Narragansett Bay
into this Bissel Cove neighborhood in North Kingstown RI 02852 it provided me a chance to capture this section outside Wickford (by a Yard) in pictures. Early morning real estate rounds brought me out to do the usual... radon water testing for a well with an inspector, check on a house rental and head back to the office but not before I captured the morning peacefulness in this hidden cove just 1 mile outside of Wickford, RI. It’s just off the old Route 1A road as you head south towards the beaches of Narragansett. But you’ll want to make the stop here at Bissel Cove to see the homes from quaint to Nantucket style with the restive Bissel Cove on one side and the blue gray water of Narragansett Bay on the other side.
Now Bissel Cove is actually considered a 'bay' and the land around it
has an elevation of just three feet so you are just a bit above the water level of Narragansett Bay. So whether you like to kayak, canoe or row, the opportunity to explore this coast line cove is a few steps from your parked car or backyard. And yes, there is a small parking lot at the end of the main street of Waldron Aveune to Worsley Avenue, which runs along the cove where you can enjoy bird watching or get yourself moving into the water with a vessel at hand. Although it surely was a summer community at one time, this coastal cove area is primarily populated with year round residents.

So if true audobon habitats or a peaceful cove area may be of interest to you, make your route to the neighborhood known as Bissel Cove in North Kingstown RI 02852 and step out of your shoesbecause you're outside Wickford RI by a yard.
