Saying Goodbye to A friend, A client, A Marine........

Cherimie Crane, www.BeaufortTime.com: Real Estate Agent in Beaufort, SC

These days there are so many complaints regarding real estate. The market is too slow, inventory too high, and yada yada. My biggest complaint and most difficult challenge is saying goodbye. As fortunate as I am to work with so many Marines, it can be heart breaking.

This morning one of my very first Drill Instructor clients walked through my door for the last time. Well...at least for another 3-5 years anyway. Tim Mooney, US Marine, Marine 1 client, and long time supporter of Cherimie.

The first time we met he was so tired he could barely stay awake as we drove from house to house. I remember how excited he was when we walked in to "that perfect place for him".

There were days I had to meet him on base to get papers signed. I would get so miserably lost and eventually call him to come find me. There were days I would ask him to email or text instead of call because his voice was so hoarse I couldn't understand a word he was saying.

He would laugh when I would ask him to "speak English' when he started using military jargon. He taught me so much. He taught me my way around Parris Island, the real meaning of hard work, how to speak to a recruit, and how NOT to speak to a Marine:). I called them soldiers one day, he quickly corrected me.

"We are Marines".

Tim and I have been friends for a while now. It doesn't seem fair that I have to say goodbye. My favorite memory of Tim was the night of my first time teaching a room full of Marines. I was about as scared as a woman can be, knees knocking, hands sweating, voice cracking. I looked to the back of the auditorium, and there he stood. In full uniform, silently supporting his quite awkward real estate friend. Immediately, I was at ease.

We have shared many laughs over the past few years, helped each other through the not so great times, and truly enjoyed every bit of it. Thank goodness email, texts, and airplanes exist. I am so going to miss seeing him.

Just as Marines watch over us all, he has watched over me for a few years now. It is time for him to move on. He is packing as I write.

What's a girl to do?

Smile, say thank you, make a quick joke to numb the sting, and know that the world is a safer place, and I a better person, because of Tim Mooney, US Marine.

Jarheads, Devildogs, Husband or Wife....Happy Birthday USMC!

Cherimie Crane, www.BeaufortTime.com: Real Estate Agent in Beaufort, SC

Ahhh yes. Today is the 234th birthday of the Marine Corps. I don't think it's any coincidence that the Corps started in a bar, do you?

Whether you call them gyrenes, jarheads, leathernecks, devildogs, husband/wife, son/daughter or boyfriend/girlfriend, they are devastatingly good looking in their dress blues, no?

US MARINES Beaufort SC

Now, the Marine Corps has many traditions and the one most closely associated with THE BIRTHDAY is the Birthday Ball.

I have attended plenty of Birthday balls and although these fetes start off as formal, they don't end that way. I could make the post about Ball antics, but I would like to refrain.

Even if there is no Birthday Ball, there is always a cake cutting ceremony. The oldest and the youngest Marines in attendance receive the first two pieces.

Marines greet each other on this day with a hearty "Happy Birthday" as if it were their own and in a very real way, it is.

I suppose I could go on and on about why I love working with so many of these amazing people, why I love the traditions of the Corps, why I love their loyalty to their fellow Marines, and why I love each one I have had the honor of calling friend.

Maybe another day...

Today, I'll just say,"Happy Birthday" to the Marines and the people who love them.

Knowing What Buyers Want, and Assisting The Seller In Finding Them!

Cherimie Crane, www.BeaufortTime.com: Real Estate Agent in Beaufort, SC

Recently Marine 1 Realty listed 31 Chesterfield Drive. More importantly, Marine 1 Realty also put it under contract in less than a week. Now, that isn't a guarantee that your home will sell so quickly; however, it is a testament to our ability to asses a property and find a buyer.

Marketing, strategic advertising and staging are all crucial factors in selling a home in today's challenging market.

Employing a real estate company that knows the needs of buyers is also incredibly important. Each day Marine 1 Realtors are briefed on active buyers. We brainstorm properties, prices, and communities that may match. This process has been extremely successful.

Our most recent success story is this beautiful home on Chesterfield Lake. During the sellers interviewing process we emphasized our methods of attracting buyers for active listings. We explained our pricing strategy and the necessary steps to reach her (seller) goals.

After interviewing several other companies, she called Marine 1 Realty. The next day we showed it to one of our potential buyers and...

Our seller client is so excited. Our buyer client is overjoyed. Marine 1 Realty was able to put these clients together to reach each of their goals.

If you are considering selling your home, make sure you interview a Marine 1 Realtor. Our market knowledge, experience, and active buyer clients gives us the ability to get the job done!
