I am glad to relay the news that the city of Anderson, in conjunction with Anderson County, on Tuesday expanded the city’s Electric City Transit system. They created a new route, clled the Gold Route to serve south Anderson and Homeland Park. This service will provide transportation to employment centers, shopping areas, medical services, educational centers, recreational facilities and more.
Electric City Transit operates four routes Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Fares are 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for seniors and students.
The Federal Transit Administration, South Carolina Department of Transportation, the city of Anderson and now Anderson County provide funding for this system. The city purchased the new bus for the route with federal stimulus funds at 100% funding. It is estimated that the cost of the Homeland park route is $185,000 per year with the entire cost being paid for by federal funds and county funds at a 50-50 match.

I want to say I am glad to be back and hope you all missed me! ;} I missed you.
Some of you may know August of 08 I almost died of cancer. I had major surgery as my cancer had spread to several organs. In fact my Doctor came out and told my family I was stage 4. But after the biopsy showed it had not spread to my limp nodes and I was told I was stage 2. My surgeon also told me it was the biggest operation he had performed all year and he had not seen cancer spread so much and not be stage 4
I was advised by my cancer doctor that without chemo my cancer would most likley come back and it would probaly come back stage 4 which is the worse stage.
I prayed about it and researched it and decided to not have chemo and to eat right and to try a diet called the Hallelujah diet. I really felt the peace of God about my decision. http://www.hacres.com/home/home.asp.
In Jan I was having pain and nausea and went for a check up. My doctor had me do a cat scan and it looked like the cancer was back in 4 areas. Back in my colon, in my liver, lungs and one lump node. The next week we did a pet scan and it showed the cancer only in my colon and one limp node. My Doctor tried to get me to have more surgery at that time but I was afraid because I had almost died the first time.
In June I went back to the Doctor for another pet scan and my two daughters went with me because we were expecting the worse as I was still having the pain and nausea. I really thought I was dying.
My Doctor looked at me and smiled and pointed up to Heaven and said you have been healed but not by me. Praise God! I was shocked and said where is my pain and nausea coming from then and he said I don`t know but it is not your cancer!! He also said nothing shocks me but I am surprised.
I know that I was healed by God and that he led me to learn about health and nutrition thru the Hallelujah Website.
Some things I learned in my year long battle, family is so very important. Do not be so consumed making a living that you don`t take the time to love your family and friends. Stop and let God speak to you. One verse He would use for me was "Be still and know that I am God"
He even used that little song count your blessings name them one by one!
Now I have to get back to work and I am ready and excited.

According to an article I just read, the Dow Jones Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) reached its highest level in a year rising to 35.5 in August, the sixth consecutive monthly increase. The ESI’s continued improvement lends guarded support to the growing view that the U.S. economy may be moving out of recession and into a period of recovery.
Now how does that translate into helping the housing market, especially in Upstate SC? Well, if people are feeling more secure about the economy then it may mean they are more likely to buy. If things are scary looking according to most economic forecasts, many people are not going to buy. But with every day we keep hearing another story about possible signs the economy is getting better. But if you wait until after everyone and their brother has said the economy is OK, will you have waited too long to take advantage of the great interest rates and buyer's market we are in? It is certainly hard to say for certain, but considering some of the fantastic deals I showed to some homebuyers from the West Coast today, I have to say the time is now to at least start looking.
Now if you are a First Time Home Buyer, then you need to remember the $8000 tax credit is running out soon. But I would not let a tax credit sway my decision, I would look at your personal financial situation, what interst rate and payment you can get, and the home itself. Just because it is a great deal, doesn't alwyas mean you should buy a home. Unless it is THE home for you, keep looking. It is always better to not buy the wrong home, than to rush the decision and buy a home that just isn't quite the right home for you.
