Greenwood SC Realtor Says "Moving May Not Mean The Same Thing To Everyone"

Are you nearing retirement? Do you have a concrete plan as to how you will live? Where you will live? Many people have all of this worked out at least in their minds but there are also many who live in the day and haven't put much thought into their tomorrows. In the volatile economy we live in it is not wise to take the future for granted. We saw many people who had made their plans, saved and invested in their tomorrow left dumbfounded as they lost it all or most of it all. We are living in a time when nothing is secure. It's time to execute a plan with a safety net. A way to make sure your money lasts for a lifetime. You have to work within the confines of your budget now and then. smaller home

1. Get rid of all your debt and stay out of debt, now is the time to clear the books while you have the income to do that.

2. Concentrate on paying off your home, you want to own it outright by the time you retire if at all possible. Or sell your home and downsize. Do you really need the big home you own now? The equity in your home can pay for a smaller more modest home and may even allow you to put any extra money to work for you.

3. Build a budget that will allow for the most savings.

4. Control your spending habits learn to make do on less and conserve what you have. Now is the time to change your ways.

5. Invest wisely and diversify. Some into money you will need in the next few years, money you won't need for say the 15 yrs. Watch the market as a whole not just in individual companies invest some money for the long term be aware that those investments will rise and fall. There is no 100% risk free investment but you can, with sound advice end up with a nice nest egg for retirement.

6. Keep your job s long as possible or if you have already retired get a job every extra money you earn improves your benefits.

7 Don't fall for the reverse mortgage pitch. If you need to do a reverse mortgage put it off until all the rest of your income sources are exhausted and then look into it.

8.Should you consider moving in with your children or have your working, self sufficient children move in with you, extended families can be so much help each other. Your children might love to have help at home with children, housework, cooking, and other activities that you would have the time to do and would love to do and they in turn can help you.

Solutions come with every challenge we face in life and understanding that change is constant you can roll with them if you will be open to thinking out of the box and changing along with your circumstances.

Dear Homeowner You Know When You're In Trouble With Your Mortgage sooner than anyone else. Contacting your lender before it gets out of hand can get you back on track in many cases, there are usually remedies for short term difficulty, they don't want your home back. On the other hand if you know that your circumstances have changed long term and that there is no short remedy that is going to allow you to make the payments then hanging on to the last minute and having the lender take action is not smart. Coming to grips with the situation you are in and making a decision to change your lifestyle to fit your present situation is pro-active.

Homeowner in distress You can make the decision can lift the burden off so you can regroup and move forward in peace. Make the decision swiftly, interview Realtors, pick the best one for your area and put your home on the market and get it sold! Making plans for your next move will be based on your bottom line, it may be that you will need to rent or maybe move in with a relative for awhile, whatever will work for you until your situation changes. Time changes everything and in time, with wise choices you can get back on track. Remember the decision you make to regroup instead of waiting for the ax to fall will make the difference as to how long it will take to get back on track, and possibly saving your credit. Taking the burden off will allow you to think more clearly and you will be able to take charge of your life and move forward unencumbered.

The hardest decision to make is the decision to make the change needed, once you have made up your mind to do what it takes, the rest will fall into place. There is no substitute for peace of mind and taking control of your destiny rather than letting destiny take control of you is priceless.

No one wants to have to go backward but sometimes backward is the only direction you can go in order to go forward. Remember this is not a forever situation it is a now situation and you can make the journey easier with the right frame of mind.
