About Hilton Head Island's Folly Field

Folly Field sits on the mesmerizing Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. It's an ocean front community that was one of the island's first neighborhoods. It's proximity to island activities is one of its main features . It's close to championship golf, the Harbour Town Yacht Basin, delicious dining, shopping, cultural events and so much more! It's a great place if your looking to move or just have a second home. Folly Field has everything you would need to live a peaceful and happy life.

If you are going to be in the area before November 8th, you may want to check out the 60th Annual Coastal Empire Fair. It offers fun for the whole family, such as games, rides, food, and more!

Oceanfront and situated high on the dunes of the white sand beaches is Folly Field. Unique in character and much smaller than the smallest plantation on Hilton Head Island, and with homes and condos to suite every taste, Folly Field was one of the first neighborhoods on Hilton Head Island to be developed. As in the 1950s, Folly Field is an ungated assortment of new, luxury, beachfront mansions and older, quaint bungalows. You can easily count the steps to the beach from any residence and, very probably, someone will call your name or greet you with a genuine smile as you traipse to the beckoning waves, laughing child in tow.

There are a variety of homes for sale, vacation rentals and beach houses on the market—each with a commanding story to tell of memories made in the pristine sands of this tiny resort community. There are two beach parks in Folly Field, one is accessible to Folly Field residents and their guests, and the other is the Islander’s park, accessible with an annual paid pass. Folly Field’s beach park has restrooms, a lifeguard on duty, a boardwalk, handicapped access, a playground, vending machines and a picnic area.

During summer, Folly Field’s perfect mid-island location lends itself to Harbourfest at Shelter Cove, where fun and entertainment abound with arts, crafts, live music, and weekly fireworks. Shelter Cove Marina, golf, tennis, shopping and dining are within minutes from Folly Field Hilton Head Island, as are the public schools, hospital and library.

This is her itinerary for her visit (one week):

• trolley tour around town
• harbor tour - depending on the weather - maybe take in the zooquariam.
• cape cod potato chip factory (fun!!)
• lunch on a sightseeing train. (this sounds cool!)
• whale watch
• side trip to Boston
• harbor again
• glass blowing museum
• beach - maybe
• miniature golf

I just got back from beautiful Hilton Head Island.

This was my itinerary for my visit (one week):

• relax on the beach

• take a dolphin watch cruise
• sunset dinner cruise
• trail ride at Lawson Stables
• play golf
• take the ferry to Dafauskie Island
• jet ski, parasail and other water fun!
• visit the museum
• historic Beaufort and Bluffton are right there, too
• side trip to Savannah - more history :)
• canoe or kayak your way over the water
• shopping shopping shopping - the Tanger Outlets are right across the bridge in Bluffton.
• fishing
• spas
• and so much more!

I came back nice and relaxed from my vacation - - -I think my sister will need a vacation to get over her vacation, lol.
