Hello Happy Hour ~ You Betcha ~ Abuelos, Myrtle Beach
Hello Happy Hour!! We planned to stop for dinner in Abuelos in Myrtle Beach by the Coastal Grand Mall before dropping our niece off at the Myrtle Beach Airport for her Spirit Airlines flight back to Atlantic City. Abuelos in Myrtle Beach had a lively atmosphere, but what do you expect for a Saturday night.
We put out name on the list and were told it would be a 15 minute wait. Not bad for a Saturday night in Myrtle Beach. Hmm, I glanced around and noticed a menu for Happy Hour. Well Hello Happy Hour!! I quickly assessed the situation and checked the time. We had 15 minutes left to Happy Hour so we walked into the bar area where there were plenty of seats at the bar and quickly found a spot at a table.
Happy Hour is 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm DAILY, (yup I said daily), in the Myrtle Beach Abuelos. (Good to know for future reference and to tell all our friends).
We had a great waiter, Nathan who said let’s hurry up and order some drinks so we can get the Happy Hour Prices, (now this is a guy I like already). He also recommended a drink which the three of us nodded in agreement to have. Mucho Grandes (or something like that) of course it was a Margarita, Hello, we are in a Mexican restaurant and they are famous for Mucho Margaritas. Abuelos in Myrtle Beach has an extensive menu which we buzzed through but you really need to check it out when you go because there are some specialty dishes that walked by us I thought looked delicious. Nathan brought our drinks quickly along with two baskets of the most delicious, light, delicate nachos we had ever eaten in our lives. The salsa was chunky, not watery, with a little bite to it and perfect for our taste buds which were screaming, feed me.
Frank ordered a shrimp dish, which of course he didn’t offer to share, only kidding, he did ask us if we wanted a taste. Jillian, our niece ordered a Chicken Quesadilla that was the size of a small flying saucer loaded with cheese and all the fixings on the side.
I ordered The Monterrey (Sour cream chicken enchilada, avocado enchilada, spinach enchilada, chicken ranchera enchilada, cheese chile relleno, crispy chicken taco and guacamole) which came out on a platter the size a 25lb. turkey would be on. Frank took one look and said to me, you will never finish that. It’s okay, I said, all restaurants have doggie bags.
The food was delicious and plentiful and yes, I did get a doggie bag to take home. No room for dessert tonight and it was time to head out to the Myrtle Beach Airport to catch that Spirit Airlines flight to Atlantic City.
Highly recommended Abuelos located just outside the Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach.
Just a hop, skip and a jump to the Myrtle Beach Airport.
