Merry Christmas, is ok to say

Kathy Honeycutt Realtor/ Neighborhood Specialist: Real Estate Agent in Travelers Rest, SC

I really love Christmas and enjoy all the things this special holiday brings, but I really wished people felt it was OK to say Merry Christmas!. Seasons greetings or Happy Holidays just doesn't seem to be special enough for Christmas. For Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Not a time to spend tons of cash or a time to make bigger sales. Christmas is a special time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The trees are beautiful and the lights are magical, but Jesus is the reason for this season. So when they say Happy holidays, my family and I respond Merry Christmas. Last year my daughter made a point of saying Merry Christmas to everyone she greeted, a few really got upset when she would not say Happy Holidays, in one store a clerk said they were not allowed to say Merry Christmas. This is really sad. Maybe we should just say Happy Birthday Jesus instead!!!!!

Speed Kills!

Kathy Honeycutt Realtor/ Neighborhood Specialist: Real Estate Agent in Travelers Rest, SC

A classmate of my kids got killed last week in a tragic car accident, which could have been prevented if he had just listened to friends. This kid had a thing for speed. Several friends had warned him, one only the night before had told him to let him out of the car, he was terrified with the speed this kid was driving. So at 1:30 pm the day before Thanksgiving he had his last experience with speed. He was traveling at 100 mph and had a flat. This sent the car into a series of 5 flips and into a highpower utility pole, killing himinstantly. Instead of Thanksgiving the family had to plan a funeral. I saw a picture of his car it looked like a C shaped piece of metal, you could not even tell what kind of car it was. So please if you see a kid speeding, tell his parents, get a tag or do something, you might save a life. It wasn't like his friends did not try, he just did not think It would happen to him. Now a family is dealing with a tragedy. Please remind your kids that speed kills! Please pray for the family.

Happy Thanksgiving

Kathy Honeycutt Realtor/ Neighborhood Specialist: Real Estate Agent in Travelers Rest, SC

Thanksgiving is a time to set aside time to give thanks for our blessings. God has been very good to my family and I am very thankful for my husband and children. No matter what have each other, and although money is tight we do have a home and food and each other! I am most thankful that God always looks after us and has never left our side. We are very fortunate and very blessed. Please take time to be with your family and give thanks for your blessings! You can choose to be unhappy and worried about the economy and future but what could taking one day to forget and celebrate hurt? Why not take one day to let it go, and spend time with family and friends remembering how fortunate you really are, I am sure that everyone no matter how bad our economy has been lately could find something to be thankful for! Joy comes from the heart and the best gift you can give yourself is a day of peace and rest. From my family to yours may you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

50,006 points!

Kathy Honeycutt Realtor/ Neighborhood Specialist: Real Estate Agent in Travelers Rest, SC

Time has gone fast in Active Rain. I just noticed I hit the 50,000 point mark tonight. It seems like a big milestone when you start off at 200 points. i earned these points on my own, without a team writing for me. I have written from the heart and I know I have made some mad when I refused to back down with my religious beliefs, and feeling about Christianity, but with wonderful groups that support you, you know it is worth every word. Thanks to all that have supported my blog and encouraged me through hard times in sales and business, I feel that we have seen each other through a lot I hope we all can sit back and enjoy thanksgiving knowing just how blessed we all really are. take time to count your blessings!! Happy Thanksgiving!
