Today in Collegedale Tennessee, the annual ressurection pagent was once again held and the entire community was invited. This is definitely a treat for young nd old. In this Easter celebration, the final hours of Christ's life, including the ascension, are re-enacted by means of walking tour that includes camels and sheep and five hundred members of the Southern University student body. There is music by various choirs from throughout the county and the public is invited to participate regardless of affiliation. The pilgrimage walks through Collegedale, stopping at significant spots for a portion of the ceremony. If you are in town next year, it is something that you don't want to miss. Sorry, I don't have ant pictures that I can share with you.

It is nine ine the morning in Collegedale, Tennessee in Hamilton County Tennessee. It has been snowing since about seven this morning. My dogs are out and loving it. There does not seem to be any accumulation anywhere except on the grass and parked cars. I have been watching the Weather Channel and it appears that the same type of conditions will extend down to almost Atlanta where I am heading. I just received a weather alert on my computer warning of freezing rain and ice on the roads on the Cumberland plateau. This is a worthwhile service that I signed up for. Whenever a weather alert is issued by the National Weather Service I receive an email notifying me. I can sign up for other areas as well. I would like to hear from everyone around the Southeast region and see what is happening in your world.
What's the weather like near you?

The weather report for the greater Chattanooga area tonight is suggesting that we are going to have severe winter weather overnight and into the morning. Being a skeptic I have tended to dismiss it, however, tonight the reports re getting more and more expansive and prevalent. It just poured buckets but it is still warm outside. Not sure whether to believe it or not but they do seem quite serious and emphatic about the matter. To top things off I need to drive to Atlanta tomorrow to pick up my friend's bitch for breeding. Now I am in Ooltewah, Collegedale Tn. so our weather varies slightly and I know that Lookout Mountain and Signal Mountain will probably get a good dose but now they are suggesting that Northern Alabama and Northern Georgia will get significnt accumulation too so I don't know what that implies for Ooltewah or Collegedale Tn. but I do know that my trip to Atlanta will most likely be interesting to say the least. And yes, the dogs will LOVE it in the morning!Oh, and by the way, if you are thinking of buying or selling in Ooltewah Tn. or Collegedale Tn. and our unpredictable weather, then call me. I'll get you squared away.

I took a leisurely ride around today in the 60 degree sunshine and was inspired to write a short post to introduce everyone to Collegedale, a true hidden gem tucked in the valley of Hamilton County Tn. Cleveland is to the North, White Oak Mountain to the Northwest, Chattanooga to the Southwest and Ringgold Ga. to the South. The scenery is beautiful and for sucha small, well manicured little town, it sure has a lot of conveniences and ammenities.
It is home the Southern Adventist University and McKee's Bakery of Little Debbie fame. There is a post office, a vegetarian market and a fantastic library.
There are 5 banks as well as two credit unions. The Collegedale Credit Union has been making loans and keeping track of people's money for many years. Anyone who lives or works in the city of Collegedale can become a member at this small town feeling financial institution.
Around the corner there is a beautiful family park. It is a great place for a picnic or to take your dog. There are also electrical outlets for those that attend the annual camp meetings in their R.V.s.
The town hall, library, and a senior health care facility are all conveniently located on Apison Pike across the street from he Veteran's Park.
Veteran's Park is a gorgeous place to walk your dog or just go for a leisurley walk. The trails wind for miles and at certain points follows Woltever Creek. It is also very handicapped friendly.
The Little Debbie outlet store is also within walking distance to this location on Apison Pike. You can buy all of the famous snacks at a discounted price, so fill up your trunk!
Oh yes, and one more gathering place, Rafael's Italian restaurant It is a great place for good, affordable food in a family atmosphere. On Friday nights the locals fill up the place.
There are two pharmacies in this little town; Rite Aid and Thrifty Med, a privately owned compounding pharmacy.
So if you are looking for a nice place for your family to grow with an almost non-existant crime rate, modest taxes, and reasonable real estate prices; then come on down! ...or up, whatever applies. And if you do decide to stay, call me to assist you in finding that perfect spot to live because "I Always Sell the Best Spot"!

Here in the small enclave of Collegedale, home of the Southern Adventist University, there is a hidden gem that provides vegetarian and natural products for everyone that knows about it. The lifeblood of the community of Collegedale is the university and McKee's Bakery, home of the Little Debbie brand of snacks.
The university is a Seventh Day Adventist instituition, and this religion places a lot of emphasis on health and a vegetarian lifestyle, so, it was a natural that this small grocery market would be here. Located at 5002 University Dr. in the Fleming Plaza, this little store is packed fulll of everything that someone living this type of lifestyle could want.
There is an isle of vegetarian meat products, one with essential oils, vitamins and supplements and my favorite part; natural and local products such as honey and peanut butter. They also have an organic section and a vast array of bulk food items such as rolled oats, almonds and beans that I didn't even know existed. It is a fascinating place to visist! Looking for a good quality juicer or mixer? The Village Market has thos too.
If you are coming to the area and you have an interest in these lifestyle choices, than be sure not to miss out on a visit to the Village Market. Their hours are generally 8-8 and closed on Saturaday. Friday closing time is 4 p.m. so that those wishing to observe Sabbath can do so. If you would like to give them a call their telephone number is: 423-396-2300. If you need assistance finding a home in the area, than call me. I am a local real estate broker that knows the area well.(423-785-7768) See you at the Village Market!
