I am not a CEO of a huge fortune 500 company. But, I am a business owner.

And you know.....as a business owner and the CEO of my little company, it is my responsibility to watch my P&L and to know when my expenses are more than my income. Not rocket scientist stuff, just elementary math. When my business does not make money, I do not get paid.

The top paid executives of Ford, Chrysler, AIG, and all the others with their hand outs should take note and learn from the small business owners. Listen carefully boys.....when your company starts to lose money, the first place to impact is the top expense items. Yes...it's salaries.

This week the government will be making a huge decision as to the bailout of the big three automakers. I say no. Let them file bankruptcy, fire their top CEO's, reorganize, and start over. These top executives are certainly not operating these companies as their own. After all, they will get paid even if they run their companies in the ground. Their companies are broke, begging for money, but all of these top executive are millionaires.

Well, when can I expect my check? After all, no industry has been more affected than the housing market.

Well, AIG has been making the news over the last few months.

$123 billion dollars in taxpayer money.

Government has 80% stake in company.

The public and Congress are outraged at their recent Phoenix retreat.

Ed Liddy, CEO for AIG, joined Larry King tonight to explain this retreat. It was held at a lavish resort, but according to Liddy it cost AIG $23,000. Most participants paid for their own way. However, he could not explain the lavish CA trip, other than to say it would have cost more to cancel than to proceed.

Liddy argues saying they need to have these retreats in order to sell their company and their products. AIG is the largest insurance company in the US.

Liddy is adamant that every dollar of taxpayer money will be repaid. Well, probably won't happen while he is CEO.

Again this week, another home goes to foreclosure. How sad...truly heartbreaking.

Why??? Because the sellers owe more than the home is worth in today's market.

We hear a lot about short sales and banks/mortgage companies willing to work to help families sell or refinance their homes. Complete hogwash!!! Don't see this happening. If fact, it's contrary. Most often, you cannot get anyone on the phone to even talk about a short sale, extensions, waiver of fees, or anything other than "GET OUT, NOW!

One of the saddest things though, is most of these families are forced back home to live with parents or other family members. Renting is not even an option as most cannot pass the credit check and with the shortage of rental homes most landlords can be very selective.

In my market, adjustable rate mortgages and loss of jobs are the leading culprits to the increase in foreclosure homes. We see the trend continuing upward.

I vow today to find a way to help. I challenge all real estate professionals to do the same.

So many questions and so few answers. We can help make a difference one family at a time.
