Mossy Creek Is The Creek To Be

Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee is a great school. It is a private Southern Baptist College and is home to just over 2,000 students. Since it is a religious school, it is home to many religious majors along with the usual education options you would get at a state school.

A good friend of mine goes there and she says it is a wonder why more people do not go there. I did some research on this school and found out that is actually used to be two colleges. Back in the early 1900s, an all boy's school and an all girl's school combined. One was called Carson College and the other was called Newman College. That is why there are two names, Carson-Newman.

Carson-Newman College is well known for their academic profile. They have one of the best pre-medical programs across the nation and an even better religious department. CN just built a brand new business and family and consumer sciences buildings. If you are looking for an off the wall major, don't be fooled. Carson-Newman may be small but it is not at all limited. Forbes magazine placed Carson-Newman above many great colleges including Vanderbilt, Samford University and Cornell!

The sports program is not too bad either. Last year alone, the football team and both guys and girls soccer were ranked number one in their divisions and went on far into the playoffs. The football team even made it on to ESPN. That's not a bad accomplishment at all for a private Christian College.

This is a great college to attend where the academics are hard to beat with a very safe environment. Carson-Newman College is a great choice for any student. Check it out!
